August Sketches (Part 1) (Patreon)

Huuuuge sketchbook dump from August, I just went off in my sketchbook towards the end of the month

I ended up going a little wild at the art store (because I have not been for over a year) and got a shit ton of pencils and markers I didn’t need so I’ve been getting my moneys worth lol

As you can see I’m focusing a lot on clothing, the clothing designs of ATSTIB haunts me…. I want the style to be reminiscent of the renaissance era but also mixed a little mideval a little of everything old,,

it’s definitely not meant to be historically accurate but I have a hard time creating and designing these things on my own, which is why in the comics I do their outfits are very basic and vague because I don’t have a very large visual library in my head yet

I’ve been studying and collecting a lot of stuff on Pinterest for clothing recently, like I’ve found a gold mine in old costume illustrations from plays from the late 1800’s early 1900’s!

Anyways that’s usually what I try to study in my sketchbook, here I was thinking about a situation in which Orion and even Rue would have to wear a lot of clothes to cover their bright skin because they would stick out like sore thumbs in a human town,, and generally trying to be inconspicuous
