Rigel’s Parents (Patreon)

I have posted a family portrait on my Instagram for Rigel’s family a while back now when he was a baby, but I wanted to come back to that and draw him again with his parents but when he’s a bit older.

I would say he’s about 10 in this picture. I also finally came up with their names! Rigel’s father is Aconite and Rigel’s mother is Angelica Valeriana. She is the heiress to the Great House of Valeriana, which is the family that oversees all medical and healing practices in the Human Realm. They’re a long line of doctors, and Angelica is also a doctor.

The Valeriana’s themselves have been the personal physicians to the royal Hemlock family for a couple generations now, and this is why their estate is within the large Hemlock royal palace grounds.

This is one of the reasons Rigel grows up with so much prestige, as he is almost like a little prince. This is also why Rigel is trained to be well practiced in medicine, as he was meant to be a doctor. However, once Rigel was foretold to be the next Chosen One of the Fates at his birth, his prestige and upbringing along with that changed drastically.

But as you can see Rigel is very happy with his life at this point, and his mother is very proud of him.
