I just finished Dead Boy Detectives, based on a spinoff comic of The Sandman, so I'll take this opportunity to clear up if it's actually attached to the Sandman show we've had reactions to here. First of all, I DON'T recommend Jess do reactions to it, because there's a whole thing with a giant snake throughout the entire season. But regarding The Sandman, technically no, but also sort of? It's a completely different production crew, and one of the main characters has his death back in 1990 when the Sandman series hasn't even gotten to it yet, so clearly that's not the same setting. But at the same time, they're clearly banking on that show's fans to boost this one, since there are cameos from the same versions of Death and Despair (and honestly two of the best scenes in the whole thing, with Kirby Howell-Baptiste reminding everyone how great she is in this role, and Donna Preston really getting to shine with playing the character on her own turf rather than just being Desire's lackey). And it's a pretty good show in its own right, nowhere near Sandman level but what is? If you're at all curious, I say definitely give it a try.

“Asps! Very dangerous! You go first!” I’ve acquired the phobia Jess has, so that part doesn’t exactly provide the greatest incentive for me either. Then again, I’m very much in favor of, if she wants to and has time to do it, Jess having rewatches of the original Indiana Jones trilogy, and Crystal Skull prior to seeing Dial of Destiny, albeit there, I and others know when and where the snakes show up, so we can help Jess get through that better. I’ve been curious about Dead Boy Detectives myself. One of my theatre professors from college gave it a hearty seal of approval. You’re saying it wouldn’t be the best for Jess to react to, ok, then I suppose I should just watch it in my own time, though finding the time is going to be tricky what with work entering the summer months, not to mention the influx of new shows next month like The Acolyte and House of the Messy. Still, I’ll probably get to it at some point.

I gotta say a little shoutout to Gonky's little hero moment in the second episode. Power was needed, and power was provided. Even a defective droid can still be useful.
