Oh, ok, well, thank you for the head’s up on your break at the end of next month. Here’s hoping in advance that you have a refreshing time, Jess. Now to the episode. As expected, a Donna episode, you most appreciate. Heavy though it got. Solid mystery at first with the masks and costumes. Whilst I would not say that I was as unsettled as you were, I don’t begrudge how it got a bit under your skin. I believe you mentioned that, I think it’s your brother who has the phobia of mascots. I would wager he’d hate that part of this. I got some family who’d feel the same, so I get it. And when Donna was suggesting the guy could just have a really big noggin, I got a laugh as he’d fit right in with my dad’s side of the family if so, as I and everyone practically on Dad’s side of the family has rather big heads. Dean annoyed me some with the Bugs Bunny jokes, and then when he got annoyed with Sam for cracking a joke. Made me note, “What you can make the stupid as all hell rabbit quips, and Sam can’t?” Liked Donna working well with the boys throughout, and Doug. Credit to Doug who whilst likely a bit dim, is not stupid as evidenced by his being skeptical of the copycat excuse given to him. Sam even notes that. And they play it well how Doug would note though not impossible, it’s highly improbable. Good on Sam for getting Donna to stop picking on Doug, and it was kind of sweet how Doug admitted to a no hard feelings type of response when Donna apologized. Yeah, poor Sam with the clown. Sidenote: Strange though it may seem, a cursed bunny head is not even the weirdest sort of thing that you see come through a thrift store. Believe me. No, seriously, believe me. They do hit you with the heavy plot, and I hear what you’re saying of it not breathing as much as it could have before it got wrapped up. No worries on the conversational hiatus upon discovering the reveal of the mystery. Considering the subject matter in question, your reaction was a human one, and very understandable. Good plot though of how doubt and gossip can be powerful weapons that can kill. You mentioned not being entirely sure on the guilt or innocence. They never do specify with absolute certainty if the guy did or did not do what he was accused of doing. They leave that slightly vague, which I liked that. It IS inferred that he was innocent. And Dean says wrongful death leads to the vengeful spirit, but that is his surmise. There’s no guarantee. Feels like a condensed version of the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street in that respect. I hear you on what you said of plenty of your friends have kids, and though you get along well with them, it doesn’t always mesh. Most of my school friends, and my brother’s school friends too, practically all of them have kids now. I got my younger cousins. And yeah, me and kids, not a good mix. I also hear you on seeing someone in a show or film, saying, “I know them. Where do I know them from?”, the feeling is familiar. In this case, the lady being from Angel. Again, behind on both Buffy and Angel. Talking with my brother somewhat recently, he did say he quite enjoyed Buffy and encouraged me to get into it. Maybe someday. Looked up when Buffy and Angel both ran, as I too remember them both being on when I was a kid, even if I never have seen them. I imagine my parents likely being a bit disturbed if I had watched the shows as a kid. I see that they premiered when I was six and eight respectively. Factor in that you’re three years my senior, saying you were a kid when they aired is fitting, albeit given the math, you’d have been in your high school years when both shows ended. Then there’s the bookends of Sam praying to God for some form of guidance for the vague as fuck visions. I got somewhat mad at Dean for initially being so disapproving about Sam praying, whilst noting his fair point about closing one’s door. The profession they’re in, you exhaust all possibilities, even the slim ones. And Sam raises the good point about Amara being in the mix is a new wrinkle that seeing if God has gotten involved would be something to look into. It is nice, therefore, that Dean does listen to Sam at the end, and is at least willing to concede the possibility that God is behind the visions. He also understandably is against anything to do with the cage, considering what happened previously, I don’t blame Dean on that one. A good episode before you go on break, for the youtubers anyway. And it was quite an enjoyable reaction. Thanks, Jess.
