Hey! Glad you liked that - as you said, it's a comic book adaptation, of a great British writer, Alan Moore - and it's one of the more successful adaptations of his works. Having said that, Moore's stuff is often very complex, long and literary - and generally the adaptations of his stuff have fared very badly to the extent that Moore has disowned them. Myself, I like a lot of this film, thougg it's way, way different to the comic - but I think its biggest weakness is Evey - I just don't think that Natalie Portman is doing a good job in this - perhaps it's the accent that's holding her back - but I find it hard to believe this is the same actor who was in Leon.

I'm glad this won the poll, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's one of my favourite comic book movies. There may be more that you pick up on repeat viewings, but you seemed to react to all the major stuff. You're one of the most perceptive reactors I follow. An expert watcher of media, I guess. Thank you.

Rey interesting re-watching this again against the backdrop of politics in a lot of western countries at the moment. Also a few echoes of Handmaids Tale. Has Jess been watching Handmaids?
