Brilliant reaction along with thoughtful and intelligent insights into the characters and the circumstances of this tragedy. You owe absolutely no apologies for any portion of your reaction whatsoever. Now, onward to season 2.

For your question, throughout my first watch, I cared more about Ellie, but from the second watch onwards, I care more about Beth (even though I still care a lot for Ellie), I don't know what changed, but Jodie Whittaker's performance hit me like a ton of bricks the second time around :)

No apology needed for your reaction between Beth and Ellie. I was not defensive of Ellie in that moment but I felt so bad for her knowing she had said the same thing earlier. I felt about the same for Beth and Ellie over all, maybe slightly more for Ellie which seems weird because I feel like I should have felt more for Beth being that it was her son who was killed. I think maybe it is because not having kids myself I can empathize more with being betrayed than the loss of a child if that makes sense. Not that Beth was not betrayed too, just that Ellie was betrayed by the person she was ( I assume) closest to except for maybe her own kids.

Very much enjoyed seeing your reaction - thank you.

I'd forgotten how phenomenal Coleman was in that last epside - this was such a good choice to react too - a lot better than I was expecting to be honest - trying to think of what else in this genre is equally worth of watching.

I can't believe i called it. I'm starting to think that line between Ellie and Susan was a bit too on the nose now. Like, i could really feel the foreshadowing. Truly a show about complex feelings and complex subject matters. Very much enjoyed it, but i had to distance myself from it quite a bit for it to not get overwhelming. Super interesting that the monstrous act commited by the killer was not abuse/rape, but the murder itself. The fact that Chris Chibnall made it possible to have a tiny little grain of sympathy for Joe makes him feel real and tragic instead of demonic. There are no easy answers to be found about anything at the end, but that was never the point. I really can't wait to see what Chibnall and Jodie does with Doctor Who.
