X-Men: Apocalypse Reaction!! - Google Drive

Got mixed feelings on this film. Feels like it didn't really deliver on the potential from the end of DoFP, but it's... fine? Lol. Still got plenty of enjoyable scenes to be fair, so still looking forward to watching this later! Either way, I don't think it warranted a sequel, they could've just ended things after Logan and Deadpool came along -- and probably should've since Dark Phoenix looks like it's coming along badly with a lot of problems lol rip. Oh well, if the X-Men ever make it to the MCU then I'll just look forward to that day

Really enjoyed your reaction. This is a weird one. The first and second acts are entertaining enough with some fun and kickass moments, but what little plot there is is all over the place, leading up to a whole lot of noise and chaos that gets kind of tedious in the final stretch. And then it peters out and i'm left with a "that's it?" kind of feeling. There is so little substance in this movie, and it's a shame because it starts off looking like it might be something really special. I really like the opening sequence and the titles. I like Eric and his family, and the tragedy that falls upon them because of an act of kindness. I love Angels transformation with Metallica in the background. I like the X-kids. Nightcrawler in particular is great. But there are too many unnecessary callbacks. Did we really need Wolverine in this movie? Did we really need another Quicksilver slo-mo scene? The last moments with Charles and Eric are lifted almost verbatim from the first X-Men film. It's a whole lot of nothing, but as nothings go it's pretty entertaining nothing. Oh, and i'm quite a big fan of Jennifer Lawrence, but wow, she was really phoning it in in Apocalypse. I think she's pretty sick of being blue.

I'm quite hyped about Dark Phoenix. The trailer is nice, and if you look around a bit the behind the scenes problems aren't as bad as some would have people believe. There were never three and a half months of reshoots, for example. The rumor mill likes it's drama.

Plus, the Quicksilver scene makes him so absurdly overpowered that you spend the rest of the movie wondering why he's not just instantly solving every problem.
