I re-watched this one not too long ago, but I'll certainly be giving it another watch with you!

I've now watched these reactions and really enjoyed them! I know you've already done the first three serials, but this really does feel like a special moment, the start of your full-blown Classic Who journey. I'm really looking forward, like many others no doubt, to getting your perspective on so many stories which have been so familiar for so many years. Bon voyage!

Your appreciation of Ian and Barbara is wonderful. I regret to inform you, though, that Susan will *never* do the sensible thing, no matter how firmly you speak to her... :-) And so we find that "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" was not the first time Doctor Who showed disembodied brains in jars with staring eyes... This story is Terry Nation writing in full "Perils of Pauline", 1930s movie serial mode, which at least fills each episode with action and incident, and means the story avoids the more, er, sedate pacing that's more typical of the black-and-white era. The Voord were just the first in a long line of attempts to come up with another alien creature that would match the success of the Daleks. Needless to say, they didn't... I'm really looking forward to spending several years going through the classic series (again!) with your reactions. You've got some amazing stuff ahead...

"We must do a thorough search for her." Yeah, she's right outside the door. XD
