One part of this movie that doesn't come through just watching one film from each actor is that Felix Leiter is Bond's most frequent ally, so his getting so brutalized is absolutely believable as driving Bond so far off the deep end. He's typically played by a different actor each time (you saw Cec Linder playing him in Goldfinger) but to help the story resonate they brought back the most popular one, David Hedison from Live and Let Die (he's also well known for the classic hokey sci-fi series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and the original version of The Fly). Also, I just realized watching it this time that Della is played by Magda from Jane the Virgin!

Truman Lodge the character who you regonised but couldn't tell is Anthony Starke who is well known for his one episode role in Seinfeld Jimmy, as well as playing Jack on The George Carlin Show and Sebastian Balfour in Prison Break A lot of people a devisive on Timonthy Dalton as Bond cause he was adament on playing him more like the books with the gritty realism instead of the fantasy the films had become with every villain wanting to take over the world in the previous films

This is definitely the most gruesome Bond movie and was rated 15 (IIRC) where as previous movies were PG rated. I think it's a bit too long, and the Hong Hong ninjas were unnecessarily. For me, I just love seeing Q get some field work.

Dalton tends to be the preferred Bond for those who enjoy the Fleming books. I would love to have seen him do a third;but it was not to be. For some reason, this film flopped (comparatively!) In North America, although it was a huge hit elsewhere. For many, the change in tone from Moore to Dalton may have been too abrupt - but I found it refreshing.

Awesome reaction Jess - Dalton is a superb Bond and he actually insisted on less relationships for Bond in his films. Kudos to whatever you did in your export with the light because it didn't distract at all. Have a very Merry Christmas and a lovely break. You deserve it and thank you for all your reactions: classic Who, Stranger Things and Bond - I've been spoiled this year! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2020 :)

The luminous living room strikes again! It wasn't that much of a bother though. I'm glad you liked this one Jess, I've always enjoyed Tim's portrayal of Bond since I was very little. And your not wrong, looking back that love triangle thing they had going on was kinda stupid. Apart from that LTK is one of my faves, up there with Goldeneye & Casino Royale.
