The bit with the campers is pretty clearly just thrown in because the episode was running short, but that doesn't stop it from being the creepiest thing in the whole story.

Dealing with a lot of copyright issues with the BBC and have been trying to get it uploaded all day. However, for future reference....if it's still Friday, it's not missing or late. Please be patient.

I'm not biting your head off, I'm simply letting you know that I'm working on it and patience is appreciated.

Thank you for a wonderful reaction. There are many elements to this story which I love and that you have already covered, so I won't reiterate that. I found the campsite scene quite horrific. The veteran actress who played Amelia Rumford gave her last performance in this story. Very sadly she passed away the year after that - but I'd love to have seen her as a companion too. She got on so well with K-9, I like to imagine The Doctor might have ended up sending a verion of him to her! Well, I guess you're now reacting to Tom Baker in 2 roles (the other being Bendu in Rebels). Really happy you are enjoying this season. This arc remains a firm favourite of mine. See you next time!

"That thing is made of stone?", "Yes, and it's closing in on us fast", "But it's impossible!", "No, it isn't. We're standing still.", Professor Rumford and The Doctor, "The Stones of Blood" I never really considered the change of style between the two halves. But, actually, I like the hyperspace court-room comedy story parts (funny moment when the Doctor pulls the wig from his pocket) as much as the creepy horror stone-circle bits. There were some Doctor Who milestones in this story. This is the hundredth Classic story (depending on whether you count "Mission to the Unknown" as a separate story), and the 4th episode came out around the fifteenth anniversary of "An Unearthly Child". In the video featurette that came with the story release it was pointed out that the campsite scene would probably be a New Who pre-titles scene these days. That's probably right - in the intro for this story we get the review of our series arc between the Doctor and Romana which I always find a bit boring. I got "World War Three" story-vibes when our crew in the cottage were attempting to determine the origin of Vivien and the Orgi based on the citric acid clue (vs the 9th Doctor coming up with Raxacoricofallapatorius). I never noticed that before. Nice to see a few references to previous Who stories in the dead inhabitants of the prison ship - well the re-use of existing props anyway. There was a Wirrn from "The Ark in Space" in one of the cells, and (possibly) a Kraal android from "The Android Invasion" in the cell with Romana. Apparently a Sea Devil was planned to be incarcerated as well. It's funny that the Doctor initially thinks about pointing at Romana when the Megara demand to know who had broken the seal. I'm reminded of the same sort of physical humor in "The Ribos Operation". But most of all I love Beatrix Lehmann. It was glorious to see Professor Rumford being instructed on how to fix the device by K9. Beatrix was great in this whole story.
