3x06 is one of my favorite episodes! It´s Rex' playing field! ^^ Oh, and it´s great to see that this bigger tier already has some other subs! :D

Like you said, Jess, you were winning today with the episodes. Start with the Hera episode. Lovely to return to Ryloth for the first time since the Emperor and Darth Vader paid a visit. Great to see Hera and her relationship with her dad. Her desire to retrieve the kalikori I understand. There are possessions of mine and my brother’s that are links/mementos to loved ones long gone that I would be most protective of. It is beautiful to see you more formally see Thrawn in action, so to speak. Even with Hera putting on a strong act, it’s great to see Thrawn quickly see through the blurrgshit. As you discover, Thrawn is a man who adheres to the wisdom of knowing the ways of one’s enemies, especially their art, which is where the character speaks to me. His big scene was marvelous, particularly when his theme, more precisely, the organ music kicks in. It is a rare enough thing: a man who makes the transition from page to screen and lives up to his reputation. I await your future reactions to Thrawn, and I loved your statement of despite how impressive you find Thrawn to be, if he harms Hera, you will NEVER forgive him. I would expect nothing less, Jess. Even with my love for Thrawn, which far exceeds my love for Hera, I would support your refusal to forgive Thrawn should he cause harm to befall dear Hera. I also loved your praise for the villains, and I surmise Grievous was the character you were being shady toward. I don’t blame you, despite my fondness for Grievous. And yes, Chopper is most certainly going to choppy chop. Rewatching the Rex episode, you were on my mind the entire time. It was profound how emotional it was seeing this episode, both then and now. Startling to see Rex going through his trauma. It gets me right in the heart where he momentarily thinks Kanan is Cody. I loved how Kanan is understanding of the trauma Rex goes through. It is a great moment when Ezra points out, yes, something that to you and I is obvious. The fact that neither the Republic nor the CIS won the war. I always saw it as it takes the outside perspective to see clearly what those in the thick of it could not. It is so great Ezra paying the Emperor one of the best compliments by highlighting the lack of closure both sides of the war are left with. Reminds us how beautifully old Sheev orchestrated everything. Fantastic to see Rex and Kalani team-up, and end the Clone Wars, and it warms the heart to see Rex praise Ezra. Everything about your reactions to the Rex episode was wonderful, Jess. Especially your reaction to the title being in the style of Clone Wars, and the theme from Clone Wars being reprised. I cried seeing how much that got to you. It affected me the same way, especially how you described it gave you chills. That was my experience during my first time seeing this episode as well. To talk about the Rex bag with flowers. You did dub him a dandelion of joy, so this sounds most appropriate. Certainly, it does sound a lovely piece of moichandise. Oh, these reactions were most beautiful, Jess, they were most appreciated. Thank you so much.

Hera is amazing, as is her little war criminal murder droid! :P Firstly a variation on the kalikori was in Andor as a nice easter egg in the back of Luthen's art gallery. Thrawn uses the art, politics and history of the people he goes up against, to find out more about them, their strengths and weaknesses. He doesn't mind losing a few pieces on the board, if it will give him checkmate in the end. This is the first time our crew has been pitted directly against him, but now they know not to underestimate him. He set this up to see what our crew would do when their back is against the wall, and by blowing up her house, it shows Hera is willing to risk everything, to win, or escape. Thrawn being angry at Slavin; he doesn't like ignorance especially in his underlings as that encourages sloppy behaviour and gives the rebels a chance to get away. Slavin wasn't just rude about the culture of the Twileks, but was very xenophobic towards them too; and Thrawn has seen this behaviour before when he had to work through the ranks. The Thrawn v Hera scene is so good, showing his meticulous workings out and how dangerous he is, and Hera coming right back at him saying 'our will to be free is what's going to beat you'. Its that spirit that will bring down the Empire one day. Chopper just taking down dozens of stormtroopers because he can, gotta love him! :D We have to remember when this aired there was no season 7 of Clone Wars. When Disney took over and dropped TCW to make Rebels, a lot were a bit miffed. So this Rex episode I think was a thanks from the creators and a nostalgic nod, to give closure on that series (well until we it got resurrected for that final season!). So not only was it closure for Rex and the super tactical droid (who btw was the droid in the Saw Gerrera and Steela arc), it was for the fans of TCW. A lovely touch. So our crew didn't get the bombs, but did get a new Phantom. You take what you can get! That outro is genius, putting the Rebels logo in a Clone Wars guise then playing the Clone Wars theme. Thanks again Dave, you magnificent s.o.b!

I think you mentioned that before Thomas about Palpy and Vader visiting Ryloth, what story is that from? I'd like to know what happened. I was reading on Reddit earlier today about what characters have been better shown in canon now, than from Legends; and interestingly a number of people mentioned Thrawn being one of them. As someone who hasn't read the Heir To The Empire books, even the newest trilogy; I find that interesting to see. On the Rex episode, its almost a bit of healing for Kanan too to get some closure from the Clone War. He lost everything also and we have seen how he has carried that trauma in this show, even 17/18 years on now from Order 66. Both he and especially Rex, can move on now and not go into spirals of despair thinking about the war. Ezra showing he is beginning to see some things clearly now, and that he might just make it as a Jedi after all, as he guides Rex through this.

Hera and her Little War Crime Murder Droid. Sounds like a fantastic name for a rock band. Thrawn being magnificent with his strategery is great to see. And yes, one benefit of this is his discovery of what Hera will do when forced into a corner. It is quite fitting that Hera has the pleasure of making the formal introductions to Thrawn as the two of them make an excellent foil for each other. Yes, though we ultimately got the final season, the one episode did serve as a wonderful closure to the Clone Wars. That outro is surely a beauty. I loved the reaction Jess had to it.
