Yes, an interesting second episode of the season. Abaddon showed up to play. She wants the throne. She seems to lack a little discipline, so I’m curious how far her schemes will go. That sucks for Sam getting hit with guilt in this episode. Responding to your thought concerning Crowley of “Maybe, just being alone with his own thoughts will be torture enough.” As someone whose Freudian nightmare of a brain can be downright demonic at times, I would imagine you’d be correct that the King of Hell would have a bit of a day once left to only his own thoughts for companionship. I even think that I’m just a mortal man dealing with a vivid imagination. Can you imagine what Crowley would go through? I figured you wouldn’t care for Crowley turning the screws on Kevin, especially his calling Kevin submissive. Knew that was going to trigger you just a mite. I share your hope of his mom living still. Did not entirely care for Dean outright saying she’s dead; that even if she’s alive, she’s dead. I noted, “Jesus, that’s a fucked-up thing to say to a man, Dean!” I also wasn’t overly fond of Dean offering Kevin the incentive of going out for ice cream and strippers once the business is concluded, leading me to note, “Why do you just automatically assume Kevin’s going to be down with going to see strippers?” That said, Dean does make up for it by his moment where he drops the acting like a macho shithead act, and allows himself to be emotionally vulnerable, or at least as much as Dean can be, and says Kevin is family. That moment of your reaction got me, Jess. Which brings us to Zeke. Yes, it is interesting dealing with a character who has no ulterior goals or motives, so he says. You and me both on being skeptical paranoid sorts. You bring up again the hesitation of trusting Zeke in this episode, I contemplated, “Yeah, I still don’t know about Zeke either. He never answered certain questions in the last episode. It felt like he employed a Sith Lord methodology of avoiding providing direct answers to specific questions and by doing so, though he would not be strictly speaking lying, he instead tells a verisimilitude, rather than truth itself. Maybe.” Perhaps you and I are being too paranoid. I rather doubt it. It is still difficult to say how Sam will handle any hypothetical revelation. Worse, how Sam expresses feeling happy for the first time in forever. That will undoubtedly exacerbate the difficulties of the situation. You have a man, his little brother has gone through hell and back, figuratively and literally. You do something that’s at best morally questionable, as a result, your little brother is happy. It would be a task of mustering up the courage to strip said happiness away from Sam. Or he could not do that, and let Sam be happy, but it would in effect, be a lie. It’s an interesting moral conundrum. Thank you for another enjoyable Supernatural reaction, Jess.
