Do you know what you will be watching after Ahsoka, will it be bad batch?

God, that sucks to hear you had a day of your internet being persnickety and uncooperative. A few Mondays back, I had the same thing about the internet being out for pretty much the whole day; finally had to get a new box. It was a pain in the ass for me, I can only imagine how much worse it was for you, stress-wise, frustration-wise, and anxiety-wise. Good therefore, that the internet was nice throughout the reaction, and that Rebels lifted your spirits thus easing the frustrations from the rough morning. Yes, now we return to Lothal; it ends where it began. It’s great how Ezra states he wants to stay there, and no one argues with him. They recognize that’s what he needs to do. Tis horrifying to see the state Lothal is in. It breaks all our hearts, not just yours and Ezra’s. A big gut-punch is hearing about Old Jho’s death. I’m sure Old Jho was given a trial. They probably hauled him into a back room and conducted their trial thusly. They simply said, “You are accused of treason and anti-Imperial behavior. The court finds you guilty and sentences you to be shot.” then shot him. Throughout both of these episodes, you can just see Ezra’s resolve strengthening. I LOVE it when Thrawn arrives thus making you nervous. Highlights are his bemusement of Ezra waving hi, to him. And then there’s his moment of being a magnificent bastard with his Patton moment of just shooting at the TIE defender with the blaster. Your own reaction to that was terrific, especially your comments on how unbothered Thrawn is, leading me to note, “You got to have something pretty out of left field to bother good ol’ Mitth‘raw’nuruodo.” Twas a marvelous moment when Thrawn put respect on Hera’s name, I KNEW you would have a stand-out moment of the reaction at that part. Yes, we now have some majesty with the loth-wolf, loved everything about your reaction to that. As to the moment between Hera and Kanan, that, also, was a memorable moment of the reaction. You seriously looked like you were going to inflict bodily harm on Zeb for his interruption. Yes, Jess, you have been patient on the Hera/Kanan scenes. When this aired, I was as well, though that was helped by the fact that they’re not necessarily one of my top ships. Not to say I don’t care for the ship, I do, it’s lovely, just, again, not one of my top ones. Other highlights of this reaction: Loved your standing by Rex. I too laughed at his clone joke, albeit I loved Boba Fett’s quip better when he explained to Mando the reason why he would not be the man for the job as, “Let’s just say they might recognize my face.” Similarly, I loved the Kallus moment of him questioning why he’s not in charge, Rex pointing out that Kallus answered his own question, and Kallus non-verbally noting, “Yeah, all right, that’s fair.” Then I got a laugh at the moment when you said you feel like the Shady Bunch has forever been going through the sewers of Lothal. And when you asked if it’s just you who thinks that I quipped in response, “It has been something of an historic pattern for them, yes.” All in all, a great reaction, Jess, thank you.

Not all days can be perfect, when the annoying ones come we just have to get through them with a smile! Sabine has updated her look, its my favourite of her looks, especially her armour, the colour blendings work so well with her black undergarments and her hair, which looks the one colour but has touches of purple at the tips. So cool. Of the other characters looks, I believe only Ezra is slightly taller to make him look late teens now. We are also getting more sexy Kallus too! I'm with Chopper, Zeb's hat IS ridiculous, its so 70's sci-fi, that definitely had to have been a McQuarrie design from then. First time in the series we see Hera's pointy ears too. Male Twileks have similar ears to us, while the females have these pointy ears. Its a horrifying sight seeing what the Empire is doing to Lothal, burning it to the ground, and extracting all the minerals they can to fuel the factories and build the TIE's. They have ramped up the scale of production of them here with the ecological damage we see here. This ties in with a line from Andor where Maarva states that the Empire is a disease that spreads its horror everywhere it touches. One of the (many) reasons Governor Pryce is one of my most hated characters in Star Wars, is not only that she is the Governor for Lothal, she actually hails from the planet too. The fact that she is willing to do this to her own world, all for the Empire, is sickening. The Puffer Pigs bouncing around to allow our crew to escape is gloriously ridiculous! And the fact Visago gets captured due to his own greed in trying to catch one! The 'ace pilot' Baron Valen Rudor at Joe's bar might indeed recognise Ezra in particular. There were four shorts made for Rebels before the series aired, introducing our characters; and he was in both Ezra and Zeb's episodes. Ezra completely takes the mick out of him when he is in his ship as it crash landed in a battle against a proper ace pilot in the Ghost, and Ezra steals everything aboard his ship under his nose, then uses his electric catapult he had when we first met him, to finish him off! In Zeb's episode, he is on the run and gets into loads of tussles with stormtroopers, and him as well; and in fact he is also the pilot Zeb steals the TIE fighter from in the infamous Meiloorun fruit episode! :D Its a sweet but melancholic moment with Kanan and Hera when he says he wishes he could see her. The Jedi in him has accepted his disability, but the man who is in love, pangs just to be able to see her again. He doesn't even get a kiss out of it either, as the mission needs to resume.

Onto 4x6: This new Elite variant of the TIE Defender is even more deadly now with its improvements. Guess who recommended them and was a test pilot for the ship? Vader himself. The little kitties are called Tooka's. They are named after Dave Filoni's late cat and were originally in a role-playing game back in the 80's before being brought into canon the first time during Ahsoka's on the run arc in Clone Wars. We've now seen them elsewhere in the live stuff, but they are most notable in Rebels here since we see them so much; and as such are known by most as Loth-cats. The white loth-cat was seen in the vision Ezra had about his parents when he found out their fate. Congratulations Jess, you have just met the dumbest stormtroopers we've ever seen! They chase these cats for miles (one of them played by Filoni at that lol!), completely oblivious to the carnage Sabine and Ezra are doing to their base, by the very ship they were supposed to be guarding!! :D Ah we've met a Loth-wolf, I'm not going to say anything more about them just now, and let you see the story unfold for yourself; they are a fascinating addition to Star Wars and note when its got Sabine and Ezra on its back evading the search party, its reminiscent of a scene from Princess Mononoke. Love the theme that Kiner employs for the Loth-wolves. The use of the harp only adds to the mystic elements of them. Its a theme I tend to listen to a fair bit when browsing.

Yes, we do have to get through the bad days as best we can. Thing is I don’t have much smiling energy anymore, though that’s my problem. Sabine’s new look is sharp. Zeb’s hat was laughable. Chopper’s right to laugh at it and say, “You look like a soldier from planet Conehead!” Good tie-in to Maarva’s line of the Empire being like “a disease that spreads its horror everywhere it touches.” Pryce hailing from Lothal does increase one’s hatred for her. Me, I still think she’s a marvelously cold-blooded villain, and Mary plays her so well. I still need to update my most hated Star Wars characters list after recently being formally introduced to someone in particular, and I’m not going to say who for reasons of spoilers, though I think you might have an idea as to whom I’m referring to. Sweet, but melancholic is a good description for the Hera and Kanan scene.

Thomas Corp

Vader does know his stuff, piloting-wise. That’s sweet the cats are named after Filoni’s cat. They have a kind of a Miyazaki look to them which I like. Those stormtroopers were imbeciles for sure. Good comparison to Princess Mononoke. The harp is indeed a nice touch.

We have become so entrusted to the internet for such many things now. I had my internet cut out last night for just 10 minutes watching something and it was so annoying. I remember the time when we didn't have it, but it really has changed all our lives in many ways. Yes returning to Lothal is fitting, we started the show here and this is where it will end as this long arc begins to finish the series. We can understand Ezra wanting to go back to do what he can for his own world, especially since the Rebel Alliance is up and running fully now and is trying to take care of the bigger picture in the fight against the Empire. He needs to do this, and our crew all see this and will support him through it like the wonderful people (and Chopper) they are. Thrawn is such a terrific villain, unbothered in the main that our crew are back on Lothal and he uses their sabotage and destruction of the TIE Defender Elite to show how capable it is in battle conditions, confirming to him that this ship will be decisive against the Rebel Alliance. I always wanted Ezra to say to him "good morning!" when he is in the middle of the firefight, that would have made that interaction even better imo! :D And yes he respects his opponents when they are worthy enough, and this bunch is probably the most talented in the entire Rebellion (perhaps even exceeding the heroes we follow in the original trilogy, though I expect this may annoy Jess since that includes C-3P0!); and he has seen first hand how mighty Hera is as a leader and as the greatest pilot in the galaxy. Haha yeah Boba Fett's quip about him having a clone face, is better than Rex's jest, and I note when watching the dogfight scene with Ezra taking out my fave ships, the glorious TIE Interceptors, that he did several moves that we see later Mando do in his series. We can see the through-line of Filoni first showing that here and putting it later into Mandalorian. I note the kind of regret that Kallus now feels about his time with the Empire when Rex puts him down on the Ghost, I think he now feels ashamed of his time with them and didn't see, or chose to ignore, the evil he was working with. He has a chance to put much of that right now though, working with the Rebel Alliance to rid the galaxy of all this.
