Yes, this episode took a more leisurely pace; sort of a slow burn and it was great. Start by talking about the flashbacks. I honestly wasn’t in the biggest rush to learn of how Daryl got to France. Not to say I wasn’t curious, rather I knew the show would explain when they were ready, thus, it wasn’t something I was chomping at the bit to find out about. That sucks about the one kid. I see we have a climbing walker. Let’s see, you keep saying “speedy walkers”, unless anyone’s got any other suggestions, that seems a good name to me. I share your sentiment of liking Azlan. I liked the one part where he points out to Laurent that despite the promise to not eat animals that God would understand when no other option is available. It was sad to see Azlan fatally wounded. It got me how he found amusement in the irony of his fate. As he noted, God doth have a sense of humor. Seeing how that scene got to you as well, was a memorable part of the reaction. Likewise, I loved your commentary of the scene of Laurent cutting the rope and Daryl’s moment of anger and frustration. Norman sold that scene well. And you’re right, it is such a human moment. I felt so bad for Isabelle the whole episode. I confess wickedness on my part in that I was encouraging her to shank Quinn. When she asked God’s forgiveness, I chimed in by saying, “If you’re planning to use that on him, don’t worry, Sister, I’m sure God will turn the other cheek on this one.” Hearing your thoughts, I agree how you say Isabelle has returned to something she never wanted to return to, and her restraint of not killing Quinn is showing her strength of character. I loved the scenes of Anna showing that she did not give a fuck. Lovely to see her sell Quinn down the river, unfortunate consequences though it has for our heroes. Yeah, I agree that there is no worry for Daryl at all. Between Genet’s quite impressive speech where she’s smirking and going on about the world is theirs, which made me retort, “The world is not enough.” and Codron yelling that Daryl will die for his brother, it’s all gloriously setting things up for Daryl to fuck up their super-walker. Alas, we have to wait to see it; your reaction when the episode ended thereby delaying getting to see that was shared by me, by the way. Which brings us to Carol. I had caught a rumbling or two that although the series had to be retooled from being a Daryl and Carol show to just Daryl, they had managed to have Carol be a part of this after all. It was genuinely quite nice to hear Melissa, and your reaction was lovely. Concerning who she said was back, you’re right that, what I’ve heard, most people are surmising that it is either Rick, Michonne, or both. You mention Morgan is possible given when last we saw him, Dwight as well. I’m keeping my options open, but I did like your thought as to why you feel it is most likely to be Dwight. Again, I’m keeping my options open, and I am more than content to wait and see. Thank you for the great reaction, Jess, and I hope you continue to do well getting better from this recent bout with covid. Take care.
