With these opposing angel factions, this angel business will get out of control. It will get out of control, and the Winchesters will be lucky to live through it. It is at this point that Dean’s continuously lying to Sam reaches its breaking point. I’m not unsympathetic as to why he kept the act up, I’m sympathetic to his reasons. He really does need to work on his poker face. I get the sense that Dean’s gotten too used to using denial as a crutch/placebo, thus the problem goes away or is solved on its own, and Dean never has to face the harsh reality of what he did. It was particularly bad, and I gave Dean a look when he asked Sam “Would I lie?” my response to that is, “Well, you have done it MANY times before, so, yes.” In all fairness, Zeke, or, should I say, Gadreel wasn’t exactly an open book as to his true identity, and you could tell Dean was getting frustrated by the lack of straight answers. Again, Supernatural doesn’t know when to keep quiet on who’s going to be in the episode, as from the credits, I said, “Oh, ok, so Booger’s popping up again.” Your frustration with Metatron is quite enjoyable. Castiel came through with escaping his torture, loved your reaction to those scenes. The heart breaks for Sam when the truth is revealed to him. Worse still, that is, if I read the scene correctly, because Gadreel fudged with the sigils, Sam might not have even heard the truth. See how that plays out. Bringing us to Kevin and his death. First, I knew you would comment on the Cinderella remark, and yes, Jess, knowing you, you would take that as a compliment. Second, yes, it does suck for Dean that one of the last things he ever hears Kevin say to him is that “I always trust you, and I always get screwed.” As to the big moment. Yes, it is contrary to the usual death scenes in Supernatural where they usually stretch it out, letting you fester in the emotions. Here, they just sucker punch you, and like you said, credit is given to the show for the shock value. As you observed, you have only the five second foreshadowing about Gadreel pulling Sam’s strings, then he strikes, and the whole thing is sick, even by the show’s standards. Your screams of horror got to me bad, Jess. I get completely how you were still processing after the episode ended. I wouldn’t dream of arguing with you on wanting Gadreel to fuck off. I know you love Kevin. I know your protectiveness of your beloved characters; I have the same feeling with my beloveds, wicked sorts though most of them are. Gadreel did what he did, I had no doubt he would go on your shit list. You are absolutely correct that we could have had more time with Kevin than we had. Alas, we did not, and it makes his death hurt all the more. Another instance where Supernatural leaves you as upset as it did, and it makes me want to give you a hug, Jess. This one hurts. I’m so sorry, Jess.
