It does hurt right out of the gate opening this episode with the anger from Kevin’s death. I don’t blame you for still being angry about that. I like Castiel not condemning Dean for his actions. The situation does get quite dire when they enlist Crowley to help. I know you were worried about trusting Crowley. For immediate purposes, I was not. He is after all much like the Sith. If he explicitly promises something, he will keep his word on that. Of course, you are wary of how someone like Crowley would get inventive with how he interprets certain words and promises just as the Sith do. In this scenario, where the enemy of Crowley’s enemies are, let’s say useful tools, he would forgo the creative twisting of words. I agree with you on Crowley genuinely being sorry to hear about Kevin; there was a rather twisted respect that he held for the man. I would wager you’re correct on Gadreel being given the second chance and is trying to find acceptance. Not sure if finding acceptance with Metatron, or anyone else from Lambda Lambda Lambda for that matter is the best course of action. Even so, I won’t argue with you about your hatred for the characters. Great actors giving great performances, hateful characters, I won’t argue with you there. I loved your reactions to when Crowley possessed Sam. And yes, Crowley got to it quick, and did the damn thing. And the power of Crowley, with help from Sam has given Gadreel the boot. Now Crowley’s free to pursue his campaign against Abaddon, looking forward to how that will play out. Yes, the clash of demons is VASTLY more interesting than the clash of the angels. When those of the Light squabble and fight amongst themselves, it is so DULL; they have no imagination. Those of the Dark Side, they bring the theatre, the pizazz, as you said, and it makes for quite the show. Now to the Sam and Dean scene. I support Sam being pissed off at Dean, by the same token, I would surmise you are on the right track in that although the situation isn’t entirely bygones at this point, Sam has gotten to a common ground at the moment. As you say, Dean’s never forgiving himself for what happened to Kevin, and he vents the belief that no matter what he does, good people and/or people he cares for end up paying the price. You know Sam feels the same way, thus he curbs some of his more venomous anger, for the time being. At least, that’s the way I read it; I don’t know what’s to come. Other notes of interest. First, I too wish for closure with Linda. Second, I felt so bad for you with the scene of the dog, Muffins. I got a mite triggered myself as my cat, her name was Muffin, singular, but close enough to get the blood boiling on a personal level. This on top of hating it when dogs get killed or hurt in films or shows, despite my mild phobia of dogs/ my not being a dog person, it’s always terrible. I also just felt so bad that on top of you still stewing about Kevin, the episode had a dog death on top of it, and I shook my head at that, feeling so bad for you, saying, “Goddamn it, these Supernatural episodes that Jess watched back-to-back, this just wasn’t her day.” This was a terrific reaction, sad though some of the subject matter was. Hope the next episodes are more pleasant for you, Jess. Not too optimistic about that, but here’s hoping.
