Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night may marry a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright. I suspect, however, that presents made of silver are somewhat scarce at such shindigs. Yeah, Garth’s situation was a lot to chew on. I mean, good for him that he seemed happily married. I can’t fault him too much for keeping his distance from the Winchester brothers, though it did hurt something fierce when he learned about Kevin. You’re right that it feels like everyone feels guilty about Kevin, even you and me. It does say something that even Crowley felt at the very least sorry about what happened to Kevin. You see both sides of the skepticism. You have faith and trust in Garth that he vetted things, yet you can’t fault Dean for being cautious. What I can fault is that Dean was as aggressive as he was with his skepticism. Concerning his skepticism, I said, “You’re not wrong, Dean, you’re just an asshole!” Yes, it does suck that the matriarch of the group was the villain. LOVED how protective you got of Garth and your talking shit to the one lady. Also loved your comment about Sam having the long legs, leading me to note, “Crowley does keep calling Sam “Moose”, does he not?” It does feel like a final bow for Garth. I don’t know one way or another about that. You say you hope to see him again. For your sake, I hope you’re right. And after all, as you say, Supernatural often brings people back. Bobby and Rufus are sadly gone, yet they’ve put in return appearances, the former character, every time it happens, it rips my heart out and makes me sob something fierce. So, who is to say Garth can’t return. And maybe it would be good for him to hunt again, even with his being a werewolf, or wait, sorry, werewolf was not the preferred nomenclature. Lycanthrope, that was it. Which brings us to the Sam and Dean scenes. I agree that when Dean was operating under his tried-and-true denial/put a bandage on it and things will be peachy, on some level, he probably knows that’s not true. It was VERY cathartic when Sam got his point across, especially his stating that he can’t trust Dean, and certainly his point of Dean saying that “We’re family” is not going to be some miracle cure for all that Dean has hurt Sam. And as you observed, to Dean’s credit, he listens, accepts that for now. I concur that they probably will bury the hatchet at some point, the show being as long as it is, it would be odd for that to not happen. Still, good on Dean for being man enough to accept the fact that the current rift between brothers will not be mended as soon as he might ideally like. I loved all of your comments on that, Jess. Other highlights. Valid question about the “pray” versus “prey” confusion. Yes, with your acrylics, you would fit right in with this lupine group. And to talk about your request at the beginning of the video: Yes, it was most rude of Dean, despite our, yours AND mine, direct INSISTENCE, he had to break out the goddamn needle. I felt so bad for you, Jess. I had my own comment of, “Jeezaloo, man, where’d you get that big fucker!?” In the end, of course, it was not used, mercifully. All in all, a lovely reaction, thanks, Jess.
