Prototype 2 Wasted A Perfectly Good Character (Story Explained)

I had no prior experience before playing Prototype 2, all I knew was that Alex Mercer was an antagonist now and we were playing a soldier called James Heller who really wanted to put Mercer six feet down. I ended up liking more than I expected, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth to write Mercer as such a two-dimensional villain. We can deal with that next week.
