Hi,

over the past three days I have been migrating to my new Mac and so far everything works fine (despite Nimhe's critical expression...). Render speeds are improved, coding SDK works and also Affinity photo paint works without issues.

I could continue my work on 2.50 almost seamlessly. The fact that you can migrate an entire Apple machine with all apps and configuration settings and data to a new machine and "just resume working" with every single app install still working (licenses, paths, data, ...) is one of the best Apple features. I had to buy two licenses though (firewall program and parallels VM suite) which were hardware coded.

I am currently in the final stretch for V2.50 coding. Only remaining is a small quest wrapper for T'Ris strip club mission that revolves around Captain Jim and her helping Veronica with some intelligence gathering (thanks to Ashton for providing the quest idea).Target to finish coding end of July still looks good. Once I am done with T'Ris quest in a few days its mainly renders and integration tests remaining.

From my experience, this "migrate an entire Apple machine" feature (as well as pretty much any other Apple feature) works till you do a single step outside of "apple approved way of doing things". As soon as you want you Mac to do anything extra - welcome to 4 hours session in Terminal window 😵‍💫 I have to use Mac for work sometimes and it drives me insane every time. I swear I spent more time in Mac terminal then in Linux terminal. When I found out that MacOS doesn't have a simple way to remove "read only" attributes on all files and subdirectories in a directory, and I have to run script in Terminal - I was ready to threw it out of the window 😵‍💫 And don't even get me started on non-existent backwards compatibility. Any software you write for Mac today is guaranteed not gonna work in 3 years.

Yeah, that's the flip side. I have to admit I need about half an hour in terminal to fix some hosts file issue and to find out why all pings were blocked... But compared to install everything from scratch again like Windows it was still quick imho... And yes, do not fight the Apple way. Resistance is futile.

Personal highlight is the "copy one folder on another folder of the same name" which in apple osx will not merge both but delete the first and replace it with the second :)
