Chapter #37: The real Draco Malfoy.
Narcissa Malfoy decided to arrive home early, precisely today, the woman who spends most of the day shopping decided to get home early for some reason, only to discover a horrible sight from her point of view: her son, her precious Draco, was lying on the floor dead, or at least that’s what she thought.
Like any other person would do if they saw this, she started to scream, she’s from the Black family, they're always known for being dramatic, even Sirius and Andromeda are guilty of that and they've been disowned, the woman’s screech was incredibly strong, they’re glad they placed a silencing charm to avoid any sound leaking from the home as they somehow thought that Draco wasn’t really Draco.
Then she saw the culprits, Harry, Henry, and James Potter, and to make things worse, her disowned cousin, the stain of the family, the one who was named Lord Black, as there were no other candidates, the one who was kicked from the family was there too.
“Cissa, it’s good—” Sirius tried to intervene before things got worse.
“Murderers, murderers, murderers!” Narcissa spat with complete hate.
All of them wanted to argue, but to be fair, they looked completely guilty, knowing that they’re not going to reach a logical solution, Sirius nodded at James; the two of them already had a plan for cases like this.
“I’m sorry, Cissa,” Sirius said before he used a binding spell and restrained her on a chair, soon, she started to screech again, but a silencing charm was placed on the woman.
“Mrs. Malfoy, I know this looks bad, but we didn’t kill Draco; he’s actually alive, but…He was possessed by this object,” Harry showed her the diary.
Narcissa looked at it for a few moments before her eyes widened, seeing that she was calming at the realization of what she was seeing, they decided to stop the silencing charm.
“So…He’s alive?” Asked the blonde woman, trying not to look too meek in front of her supposed enemies.
“Yes, he’ll be alright,” Henry said with a smile as he carried Malfoy on his arms.
Then he brought him to the woman; soon, she had her right ear on his chest, and she was relieved the moment she heard a beat.
“Oh, Merlin, I was so scared…” She said, relieved. “Lucius…That fucking bastard!” Narcissa spat angrily.
The people in the room looked at her with surprised expressions, even Sirius was surprised because his cousin had always been a hypocrite who presented herself as the perfect pureblood lady, the one who did nothing wrong, not even cursing, never in his life had he seen her acting like this.
“He brought that cursed thing at home, he told me it was from the dark lord and that it was an honor to have it home!” She said angrily.
“I think we should obliviate her and get out of here,” James suggested, and all of them agreed.
“Wait…Where are you going? You still have lots of things to explain. What was that object? Why are you the ones who saved Draco? As far as I know, he always hated the Potters,” Narcissa demanded.
The outsiders sighed in defeat; they didn’t have time for this.
“I think we should just obliviate her,” Sirius answered, not feeling comfortable spending more time than necessary here.
This place was so pureblood and boring, he needed to get back to the headquarters; he wanted to go back with the muggle-born witches there; he was already having a good time with one before he was called for this mission.
“I’m…We’re dating, Mrs. Malfoy,” Henry suddenly said.
Soon, all eyes were on Henry, Sirius smirked, and his dad looked at his son with pity. He knows the pressure of wanting to impress your partner's family; hell, he was worried that Lily’s parents would never approve of him, and in the end, they loved him, but in Henry’s case, something like this wasn’t necessary; the Malfoys were vile, and there was nothing to build with them.
“W-what?” Narcissa couldn’t believe it.
“Sirius…Dad, you knew about Henry’s preferences?” Harry was offended.
“He told us during your stay with the secret service, he realized that life was too short to worry about those things because one day you can just die…” James told his youngest son, who nodded.
“You don’t have the right to complain, Harry, after all, you’ve known about this for a long time, right? I was worried he was seeing someone else when I tried to contact him, but in the end, he was working for you. You almost ruined our relationship,” Henry didn’t look happy.
“Don’t look at me like that…Your boyfriend decided to appear one night in my house with his friend with the intent to kill me. Let’s say things didn’t end well for them, but in the end, I had mercy in exchange for his loyalty,” Harry told his brother with a confident tone.
Long gone is the boy who was intimidated by his older brother; he was even taller than him now. Harry gained confidence that the family wasn’t used to; it was scary yet amazing at the same time.
“Boys, boys, boys…This is not the time for this, we need to pick up our stuff and get the fuck out of here before Lucius arrives,” James intervened.
He was glad Lily wasn’t there, or else, she would’ve snapped at them; she’ll be hurt to know that she’s the last one knowing who her eldest son was dating.
“So…You put my son’s life at risk for what? Because you were bored?!” Narcissa couldn’t believe it; now she was trying to disintegrate Harry with her eyes.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Narcissa, he got more than he deserved, I should’ve killed him just like I did with his idiot friend, a bullet in the head was more than enough to get rid of the other, and I was about to finish your son too, but…I realized he had more use to me alive than dead,” Harry said coldly.
The people in the room were surprised by his attitude; he was a scientist after all, always looking for solutions that could bring him more benefits. Harry’s actions always happen for a reason.
“Still…I must admit that with time I got to appreciate him and he realized the error in following the dark lord, he knew that will only lead to you and your husband’s deaths, he wasn’t worried about dying but he wanted to protect you because he knows that if it benefits the dark lord he’s going to get rid of you and Lucius,” Harry said with a serious tone.
“Lies…My son would never betray the dark lord—” Narcissa was suddenly stopped once she saw her son opening his eyes.
“It’s the truth, mother,” he suddenly said, surprising all the people in the room except Harry.
“Hey, it’s alright, don’t force yourself too much,” Henry told his lover, and Draco smiled.
“Everything he said is true, mother. I feared the day the dark lord woke up one day and decided to get rid of you two, and that day was close when father was tortured recently by the dark lord because of Harry's escape,” Malfoy said with a serious tone.
Narcissa was feeling conflicted.
“Now, mother, you can either join us and help us get rid of him or…We can erase your memories; it will be your choice, I promise you, I won’t let them erase your memories without your permission,” Draco promised his mother.
Narcissa, for the first time, realized something: he wasn’t the meek, devoted boy she always knew; he was a man already, and she couldn’t be prouder.
