Chapter #12: Candy.

Harry and Susan were on Knockturn Alley, it was time to find the person who was behind Lucius assassination, however, their only hope was to talk with the man's girlfriend, they were hoping to see her still working in this place, Harry was used to Knockturn Alley, after all, it's part of his job to take care of dark wizards who use this place as a refuge thinking they’re immune or something.

Thanks to Neville’s memories, Harry was able to retrieve an important fact: the guy had a girlfriend who worked in an adult club. Now that could mean a lot of things; it could be a club only for adults, it could be a sex club, a swinger club, a cucking club, the possibilities are endless.

Luckily, they had the information about the girlfriend, who goes by the name “Candy". Sadly, that's a common name amongst sex workers, but they’re hoping not to encounter a lot of them.

And the last fact is the name of that guy, apparently he was named “Marcus”, he looked to be in his sixties, so maybe it wasn’t going to be so difficult to find his girlfriend.

“Ready, Susan?” Asked Harry as they waited outside the first adult club they found.

Only alcohol was served in this establishment; the place looked fancy. Susan nodded at him, and soon, the two of them were inside the building, and to say Susan was taken aback by the way the waitresses were dressed would be an understatement; all of them had bodies worthy of Muggle strippers, and they barely had clothes on. Susan couldn’t help but blush, while for Harry, this was just another day.

“Oh, a couple…Good evening,” said a random waitress with a warm smile.

“Uh, hello, we’ve got a question, does Candy work here? We have some questions for her,” Harry said with a calm expression.

Soon, the expression of the waitress changed, and now she was looking at them with disdain.

“Are you two Aurors?” She asked with a raised brow.

“No, we’re just trying to find a friend, and we think only she can help us,” Susan spoke this time.

Harry was grateful she was here; he knew he might look a bit too unapproachable, so it was for the best if someone gentle like Susan did the questioning.

“We can pay you if you want…” Harry added with a slight smirk.

He was so used to playing this game, so he knew that a coin always helped when you needed quick information. Harry handed her a ten-gallon coin. She looked at it for a few seconds before nodding, and then she went to the back. She came back with an old witch, and she was normally dressed; she seemed more like a maid.

Susan and Harry were surprised but relieved at the same time. Of course, an old man’s girlfriend would be an old woman; that makes sense, right?

“I don’t know him,” she said after they showed him a picture of the man.

“Are you sure about that, Miss?” Harry asked with a surprised tone.

“Of course I am, I don’t know who this guy is, also, I’m already married, look, we got married a few weeks ago,” she showed them a picture of her husband.

They were surprised to see her with a young man who didn’t look older than twenty. Now this was an unexpected turn. They were hopeful about finding that person quickly, they thought they'd hit the jackpot, but it seemed like things weren’t going to be as easy as they thought they would be.

“Congratulations,” Susan said with a happy smile.

“Well, I guess we were wrong, sorry for bothering you two ladies,” Harry said, and gave Candy a coin too.

“Sorry for bothering you,” Susan added. “Thank you for your help,” soon, Harry and Susan left the place.

Once they were outside, they couldn’t help but sigh.

“Well, that was quite a shock, but I guess it would be hypocritical on my part if I said something about that marriage, right? I mean, I was married to an older man…” Susan sighed.

“Let’s not lose hope, Susan, we're going to find her. We need to keep looking, that’s the way investigations go through, you don’t usually win at the start,” Harry told her with a calm expression.

“Yeah, that makes sense…You could make a really good investigator, Harry. You remind me of my aunt, she was always trying to be so efficient when it came to her investigations,” Susan looked at him with a curious expression.

Harry became nervous; she was really close to uncovering what he does for a living; however, he managed to recover.

“Well, I’ve watched countless Muggle shows about detectives; I learned a lot from those,” Harry explained.

Susan looked at him with a curious expression, and then he explained to her what a TV show was, and finally she let it go.

“Anyway, we should not concern ourselves with those things; we need to keep on looking!” Harry tried to change topics, and Susan nodded.

Soon they entered different places, one was an all-women club, so Harry wasn’t allowed to enter, another had guys without shirts, and they were almost as toned as Harry. They then visited the futanari club, the MILF club, and many others, but they still couldn't find that woman.

“This is the last one. If we don’t find her here, we’ll come back tomorrow, I’m getting tired,” Harry told Susan, and she nodded.

Surprisingly, the place they entered was very fancy; there was piano music in the background, and the pianist was playing jazz.

“Good evening, welcome to 'Noir', a club where we like to listen,” a blonde witch said. She looked to be around eighteen or nineteen.

She was wearing high heels and a tight red dress that ended way above her knees; her breasts made Susan’s look like golf balls. She was clearly trying to look like a bimbo.

“Uh, what’s this club all about?” Susan asked the other witch with a curious expression.

“Well, there’s a loneliness epidemic these days, and many men and women come here to feel powerful and to be heard by a beautiful woman like me,” she said before giggling. “I’m Candy, by the way,” she surprised them both.

“Harry!” Susan said, and she and Harry locked eyes for a moment before they nodded.

“Sorry, Miss Candy, but…Do you know this man?” Harry showed her the photo of the possible suspect.

Candy’s expression changed; she went from happy to sad and then to angry.

“Yeah…I know him very well, we’re supposed to be engaged, but I haven’t heard from him for almost two weeks!” She spat angrily.

Harry and Susan shared a look of understanding.

“Miss Candy, we would like to speak with you about this man…We give nice tips,” Harry gave her five galleons.

Candy’s eyes widened. She makes one of these every day, so it surprised her seeing someone give money away as easily as Harry did.

“There’s more where that came from, but only if you answer some questions for us…” Harry smirked at the blonde.

She couldn’t help but fluster at Harry’s words. She didn't need to think about her decision; she grabbed the coin and nodded before taking both to a private room.

“Well, it seems like you had beginner’s luck, Susan, it's your first case, and we’re already on the way to get our first suspect!” Harry whispered to the redhead, who giggled in a low tone.

“Well, I had the best teacher when it comes to investigating. I must be grateful towards those TV shows that taught you everything you know about being a detective,” she smirked at him.

For the first time in weeks, Harry finally saw a sincere smile from the redhead. Yes, soon they’re going to find the culprit, he was convinced about that.
