Chapter #17: Draco Malfoy, part I.

A.N. Remember that the story takes place in the year 2025.

December 1st, 2022, just a few months after the end of the modern second wizarding war, in a controversial trial in which the key figure of Harry Potter testified in favor of the accused, the Malfoy family, Lucius, Narcissa, and their son Draco, have been absolved from all their crimes.

Once the family left the court, they were met by an angry mob. They were just waiting for the moment to snap and lynch this family that has brought lots of pain to this world. They indeed trusted Harry Potter, and his testimony about them being a key part in Lord Voldemort's defeat. However, even if they were fined, it wasn't enough punishment for the crimes against humanity that they committed; that’s why the public was angry.

“Murderers!” Screamed some people.

“Give me back my son!” A witch said between wails.

“You caused all of this!” A wizard said with complete anger.

Yes, that’s the life of Draco Malfoy after the war: the efforts to keep his family out of prison have been heavy, the family’s fortune has been drained, and to make things worse, his mother divorced his father; the illusion he had about this family was completely shattered.

“Well, at least I’ll finally ask Susan out,” Draco said to himself as he carried a bouquet of roses to the hospital.

Alongside his family, he has been attending therapy, and in that place, he met someone he treated like shit in the past, Susan Bones. He made fun of her aunt’s death in their sixth year, something he fully regretted. Destiny has funny ways to make you pay back what you did.

Susan was the nurse in charge of the physical part of the therapy his family was going through, because of the divorce and the fact that the public doesn’t like them anymore, his mother had decided to leave the country and continue her treatment there.

He was worried Susan would hold grudges against him and that she wouldn't do a good job, surprisingly, she was very professional, something that makes sense if she wanted to keep working as a nurse, and surprisingly, he and Susan have become quite close something that surprises him, now that he doesn’t have too much money and that women don’t want to deal with a bigot like him, Susan has become the light in his tunnel.

So, it’s been a few days since he was finally discharged and considered competent enough to finish the treatment, so, he wanted to celebrate by asking Susan out, he went inside the building and searched for her office, he wanted to surprise her, the door was closed but not completely so, he slowly opened it to surprise her, however, the one who was surprised was him because he saw the last thing he wanted to see, his father was kissing her, it seems like he lost without her even knowing.

A few days later…

“So, you’re dating our former nurse…” Draco said with a dry tone.

In front of him, Susan and Lucius were standing with their hands entwined.

“Congratulations!” He said with a fake happy tone, he couldn’t find it in himself to hate his father.

A few months later…

“Yes, you indeed were the best potions student from first year to fifth. But things changed when Severus was replaced by Horace. Since then, your grades have gone down,” McGonagall said with a serious expression.

Draco was desperate, he didn’t have too much money left from his savings, he could ask his mother money, after all, she took a lot of money from the divorce, and she wouldn’t hesitate to help him, however, he was too proud to do that, after the war everybody ended up hating him and his family, he wanted to prove the world that he could do something on his own.

Also, he held some resentment towards his mother for divorcing his father, so he came here to ask for Slughorn’s position now that the man was finally retiring for good. Snape indeed helped him a little back then, but not completely; he was good on his own, or at least he thought he was.

“I’m sorry, Draco, but you’re still too young for this. Maybe if you come back in a few years, I’ll consider your request,” McGonagall said with a calm expression.

It was to be expected, for some reason, no matter how good students are, they never get hired after graduation. The teachers want the students to have a life before settling on the boring life of a teacher, but Draco didn’t have the time to do that.

A few days later…

Draco’s life was a mess, he was running out of money and women didn’t want to deal with him, his father recently moved in with Susan Bones, it seems like she was apparently pregnant, or at least his father was concerned about her being pregnant, as for Draco, he had to swallow his pride and asked his mother for money and she gave him but she was still insisting on him getting a job, which is almost impossible considering how much people hate him.

“Well, it’s done,” he said as he looked at a cauldron.

Next to the cauldron, there was a diary that Snape left for him, the book contained Snape's personal potion recipes, all of them created by him, Draco wanted to see if one of those could be useful to make some money, the problem was that there were a lot, and they had no names nor description of what they do, so, the only thing he could do was test them by himself.

In best case scenario he could find something that will help him and his father go back to the top, in the worst case, he could get poisoned, and he’s not sure which one he wants, but as long as he had a bezoar, he was more than ready to take anything, he was nervous, this was like the tenth potion he tested and he hasn't find anything interesting, however, the moment he tasted this new potion he felt a happy sensation.

Soon, he started to see many colors, but then the colors turned into something else. It was the figure of a woman, the most beautiful he had ever seen. She had red hair, and soon, the two of them were having sex. She was his ideal woman, and the two of them reached their climax at the same time; however, at some point, she suddenly disappeared.

“What the…” He said as he realized he was alone. “Was that woman just…?” He wondered.

There was just one way to test if what he saw was true. Soon, he drank more of the potion, and he saw his perfect woman again. He laughed when the effect ended.

“I can’t believe it, a potion that makes you hallucinate with your perfect woman that you can have sex with and…” He realized something. “Why is my crotch wet?!” He was shocked.

He touched that part and smelled it; his eyes widened at the realization.

“I came…” He said with a shocked expression. “Fuck, this is better than sex, there’s no disappointment, just fun, and you don’t even have to worry about flirting and all that crap that men hate!” Malfoy said with a cheerful expression.

Soon, an idea popped into his head, a way to make money and bring his family back to the top. He needed to speak with his father.
