Chapter #19: Draco Malfoy, part III.

In the end, Lucius agreed to give Draco the money he had been saving. It was their only bet to get back on top, and it’s been three months since that, so, did they win or lose?

In Hogsmeade, many people were celebrating as another shop was being opened, it’s called the “Pot Palace.” And standing in front of an audience, there was a blonde young man who was smiling, and people were cheering and drinking.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m Draco Malfoy and I’m glad to be here for the opening of our third store in the country, not only you can get rare materials from all over the world for potions but you can also find potions for the everyday use, at a very cheap price, that’s what makes us different,” the young man said.

People cheered loudly. The man had become a small celebrity. At first, people were wary because of his actions, but if you do something that makes people's lives easier, at some point, they're going to forgive you, especially if they take into account how old you were when you did those things.

"This is my dream, I want to make our society great again, and I'm focused on affordability!" He said proudly, and once again, people exploded in applause.

Soon, he finally opened the door of the store and invited people to get in.

“Please, take your time to look at our products; we have something for everyone,” he encouraged them.

Suddenly, some people approached him. The First one was an older witch with blonde hair, and then there was a man who looked like him but older and wearing a tight red dress and high heels, looking as stunning as ever. There was a red-haired woman.

“Mother, Father…Susan,” Draco said with a smirk.

“Lucius…Miss Bones,” Narcissa said with a soft smile. “I’m so proud of you!” The older witch soon hugged her son.

He loved these hugs. Once the hug ended, the older woman whispered something in his ear.

“It was nice seeing you, now if you excuse me…” Narcissa told her ex-husband and his new girlfriend.

It was so shocking to see someone acting so friendly towards their ex and their new partner, but Narcissa was so happy to care about those things any longer. She was seeing someone, too, but of course, she would never show him around because she was dating someone her son hated with every fiber of his body.

“Draco, congratulations on the opening of the third store!” Susan suddenly hugged him, and he hugged her back.

“Dear, why don’t you search for the ingredients for the potion we were talking about, and I’ll join you in a few moments? There’s something I’d like to talk about with Draco,” Lucius encouraged his girlfriend.

“Okay, I’m going to check out the skincare products!” The redhead said happily, and soon, both father and son were alone.

“Is it safe?” Asked Lucius with a calm expression.

“Yes, the staff will take care of everything while we see what’s going on…” Draco told his father, and soon, they went to Draco’s private office.

But after moving three specific books at the same time, something appeared on the floor, which was a secret underground passage. Soon, father and son walked downstairs, and once they reached the floor, they were greeted by a busy sight; many witches and wizards were making potions, and they were making them in mass.

“Will this third store help us increase the demand in Eastern Europe?” Asked Lucius with a smirk.

“Yes, but I think it’s time we start to build a bigger potions lab. We can use the Fidelius charm to hide it. Granger recently published an interesting paper about how to improve its usage,” Draco told his father with a smirk.

“The good thing about opening these types of stores is that you can order any material you wish, no questions asked. It’s clear that the laws are outdated, so we’re going to make good use of them,” Lucius said with a smirk.

Their operation has truly become quite big. At first, it was just Draco with Goyle and other friends in the small potions lab at Snape’s home, but the success of the potion was bigger than Draco expected it to be. Soon, the demand was bigger than the supply.

People wanted more, so Draco didn’t waste time; he started opening these types of stores to cover many things. Thanks to this, he was getting all the materials he needed for the fabrication of the potion, claiming they were used for secret research, something legally allowed by the ministry, and most of all, this place was useful to launder the profits.

Soon that store turned into two and then three, but this is where they’re going to stop with the stores, and the reason is simple, there are many places where you can get materials, you can even go to the wilds and get all the materials you need for free, so, it would be suspicious to open more stores like this when the demand isn’t even that high.

However, these three stores are more than enough to help them clean their money, yes, in theory they don’t earn too much because of the low prices on the products, however, they can afford to lose money on the products of the store while they're earning more than a million galleons per week with the potion, not bad for an operation that started with only a few thousand galleons.

“So, how did the meetings with your international friends go?” Draco asked with a smile.

Lucius did the same thing.

“I must say that the meetings went better than expected, my friends from Mexico, the U.S, and South America are interested in distributing our product,” Lucius said with a thoughtful expression.

“Amazing, then it's time to build our headquarters. It will not only be a laboratory, but we’ll have a place to fly our brooms so we can export them without worrying about customs and all that crap you deal with when you travel through international portkeys…It’s going to be great,” Draco explained to Lucius.

Lucius smiled at Draco.

“You don’t know how happy it makes me feel seeing you giving it all to bring back the glory of your family, that’s something I can’t help but feel proud of, regardless of the legal aspects behind this operation," the older wizard said with a happy expression.

Lucius placed a hand on his son's shoulder as Draco felt proud of having earned his father’s approval.

“By the way…There’s something you need to know, Susan and I…We’re engaged,” Lucius finally confessed.

Draco couldn’t help but gulp; his only opportunity to be with Susan was gone, but even if it hurt him, he had to congratulate his father.

“Congratulations, father, I’m sure you two are going to be very happy,” Draco tried to pretend to be happy, and Lucius was relieved.

And so, the operation kept growing, and Draco was getting more and more rich but also, more and more paranoid, a few months later, and Draco had other plans in mind, he was worried about his father and his new wife, that love he used to have for Susan was gone and it’s been replaced by the same resentment he felt towards most women, he was worried she could be his father’s downfall.

“So, Mr. Malfoy, do you want us to kill your father’s new wife?” Asked a wizard, he wasn’t alone; his friends were with him, and all of them had their brooms in hand.

“Yes, Goyle is going to take her to one of the shops, and you guys will have the chance to do it, leave no witnesses, but try to be discreet,” Draco said before his friend Goyle and the hit wizards he hired moved to their positions.

The plan was easy, once Susan is finally dead, he can finally focus on what’s important, restoring his family's greatness.
