Chapter #44: The main character.

It’s been ten years since the statute of secrecy was removed from the world. After Harry’s announcement on all communications, the world went through many phases. There was shock, fear, but there was also happiness, as many people realized that the stories from books and tales were real, or at least most of them.

There were curious people, but there were also dangerous people who tried to hunt down wizards and witches, sensing that it was their duty because their ancestors did the same; needless to say, they were quickly neutralized. However, wizards tried to be better people and didn’t counterattack; they just showed their power and what they could do.

One wizard decided to shut down an entire city after he was almost shoot with a sniper rifle, showing the power a mere wizard could hold, but the wizard wasn’t cruel, so, once he showed what he was capable of, not only did he returned the power but he repaired the lines of transmission, the cables, the lightbulbs on all the houses, he fixed everything and now the people of this town have energetic efficiency as they pay less for power after what the wizard did.

And speaking about power and energy, oil companies tried to stop wizards from helping humans generate power, as it’s incredibly easy for a wizard to put to work the turbines to generate power, a mere spinning spell is more than enough, not only outages are a thing of the past but now they managed to bring power to remote places including the wizarding world.

Wizards and witches also take care of transfiguring trash and cleaning the air, of course money is still a reality and people still need it, however, some basic things are available for all humans thanks to magic, there’s now food and water for everyone and it’s free, also, because it’s so easy for wizards to build homes, now it has become very affordable to own a house right after you graduate from college.

And speaking about the wizarding world, while some old-fashioned witches and wizards refuse to abandon it, most of the younger generations have preferred to move to the Muggle world, and the reason is simple: the technology, entertainment, everything is just way too good for them not to want to be part of it.

Wizards and witches have become very popular to date, and the magical population has increased by more than 200%. There were barely one million magical people in the world at the time when the statute of secrecy was torn down, and now it sits at an estimated of more than 200 million magical people in the world.

How did that happen? Well, wizards discovered the concept of sleeping around, and because magical people can easily cure things like STIs, many curious women around the world were more than willing to let themselves get impregnated by those wizards. Even women who weren't interested in starting families, the idea of having a magical son or daughter made them rethink their choices.

One interesting thing is that the magical people born in this new era started to develop their magical abilities at a quicker rate. It seems like the genetic variety has brought some interesting things. Another thing that has helped the magical population to bloom is the fact that there are many wizards around the world who decided to donate their sperm; in fact, they were encouraged by the governments to do so.

The reason was simple: if there were more wizards in the countries, it would balance the power scale. Long forgotten are the atomic bombs; now what defines the power of a nation is the number of wizards and witches they have, and behind this power is Harry James Potter, the one who saved the world from a crazy wizard.

He was now in Potter’s manor, and he was currently siting on his office, he was reviewing some documents in his computer, it was a paper recently published by Hermione about magical physics, the subject was interesting even if he wasn’t that good at it, Harry was very interested in this for a good reason, it was time for the next step for humanity, it was time to colonize other worlds.

It's still hard for Harry to believe they were on their way to finally developing travel across the universe. Maybe with this, they will finally join the solar federation or something like that. Many people speculate that aliens have some kind of organization that humans aren’t part of because they weren’t cool enough to develop interstellar travel, something that his alien friends have denied, but he thinks they're hiding it. It has been a difficult journey to reach this position; it was hard, but he made it. Suddenly, he grabbed a newspaper.

“Severus Snape, scheduled execution for October 31, in a few days, for the murder of James Potter and Lily Evans, also, for stealing from them, and many other charges for war crimes,” Harry read with a soft smile.

The bastard was on the run for years but he was finally caught a few months ago, he was lucky the Aurors found him before Harry or he could’ve ripped his head off, it seems like because he was being accused of many other crimes, he needed to respond to those crimes too, Harry was angry because it took way too long but he was finally going to pay for what he did.

Sadly, Dumbledore died after the statute of secrecy was removed. He was still angry at the old wizard for betraying him. He knew he was following orders, but there was no excuse for him helping Snape, speaking about the secret government, they rarely see each other these days.

It was time for those secret ancient organizations to know their place, their duty is to serve the world not their self-interests, yes, the world wasn’t perfect but he felt they were getting close to that, his last enemy was going to get executed, humanity is about to travel across the universe and his women have given him the best gift, all of them have given him sons and daughters.

Hermione, Fleur, Daphne, who it took him a while to forgive (he couldn’t stay mad at her for too long), then we have Luna, Tonks, and Amelia. He has a daughter with Hermione, who’s the current Minister of Magic, and a daughter with Fleur, who’s a model in the Muggle world.

A son with Daphne who has a business of potions that are sold to muggles, he has two daughters with Luna, and a baby son. She has become a famous YouTuber who investigates the mysteries of the wizarding world. She is the first magical YouTuber and has more than thirty million subscribers.

Tonks is now the head of the Auror department, and he has a son with her, but it’s still a baby. And Amelia was the first woman who ended up pregnant. She retired just after she found out about it. They have a daughter, and she’s now fully dedicated to her family.

“Ah, and to think that I achieve all this because of an error, magical people are so clueless,” Harry said as he stared at the sky.

He was already imagining himself conquering other planets, yes, this was a great life, he couldn’t ask for anything more. After all, he managed to get many things despite his status; he was supposed to be no one, a background character. Luckily, the story of the rise of the background character will be remembered for a long time.
