Chapter #24: An interesting ally.

Harry and Bellatrix finally apparated to a certain place that Harry knew very well. They were in the woods, and a cabin was in front of them.

“Well, this is my place, this is where you’re staying, for now,” Harry told the former dark witch.

She was still in shock, but she also wanted revenge against those who turned her into a monster. One would think that Harry trusted her too easily and showed her private place way too soon; however, she had already made an unbreakable vow, swearing not to harm him or do anything that could put his life in danger.

He doesn’t want blind followers; he just wants people who can be trusted. Once she proves that he can rely on her, he plans to break the vow. For now, she was in danger; if the Death Eaters found her, they're not going to have mercy on her. She has been acting like a monster for more than twenty years; she needed to pick up her life and start anew.

Harry showed her the place, and then he gave her a mirror. She was surprised by this action, and Harry was about to explain to her what the mirror was for.

“This is for communication, right? My cousin Sirius and his friends used to carry one of these each. I secretly watched him speaking with one of them, through it,” Bellatrix told him, and Harry nodded.

He was glad she didn’t notice the connection between him and the Potters, as he stated when he arrived in this universe and realized that his parents were alive, even though it’s a dream come true, he knows they’re not truly his parents, and he had already gotten used to the idea of not seeing them until he died.

So, as far as he knew, he wasn't going to meet his real parents until the day he died, for now these Potters were nothing but strangers to him. That’s why he was neutral about them; he knows that eventually he's going to meet them, but for now he wants to avoid that. Bellatrix looked at the mirror, and Harry decided to explain to her how to use it.

“If you have any problems, you can call me, and I’ll try to be here. I think you should rest and relax for some time. You’ve been through a lot. I wish I could stay and help you more, but I have to get back to school,” Harry told the older witch.

Bellatrix looked at him with a neutral expression and nodded.

“Thank you so much for everything you’re doing… I know you're doing this because of your own interests, but I don’t care, I just want to destroy those bastards!” She told him with a determined look.

“Don’t worry, we’ll eventually destroy them. I don’t plan to help Dumbledore and the rest, but there are Death Eaters that are going to get in my way as I try to change this world, so we'll have to destroy them; there'll be no mercy for them,” Harry promised her, and she nodded.

They shared one last handshake, and Harry finally apparated back to Hogsmeade. He went back to the three broomsticks, and he was surprised to see that Rosmerta was finally free; however, he was hungry, and all the magic he used to get rid of the dark mark had taken a toll on his body.

“Good evening, I see that you’re back. I was a bit worried because you left so soon, after all, you were acting too daring when you arrived, you were promising me the moon and stars,” the older bartender winked at him.

Harry could only chuckle.

“Ah, Rosmerta… You're a wonderful woman who deserves someone like me; however, it's fine if you don't want me, for now, I think I just need something to eat,” he told her with a smile.

She beamed at his words.

“What can I get you, dear?” She asked in a sweet tone.

He ordered a butterbeer and a plate with eggs, crispy bacon, toast, and baked beans. She happily took the order and swung her hips as she walked away, but she looked back at Harry and smiled at him. It was clear that she was liking his attention; he couldn’t blame her, though he knew he was attractive.

She surprised him because she arrived with two plates and two butterbeers, then she sat with him; it seems like she was eager to share a meal with him.

“So, tell me, dear, what’s your name? I haven’t seen you here, not even during the Hogsmeade visits, and trust me, I have a good memory when it comes to the people that come to this place,” she said before she took a bite of her bacon.

“The name’s Harry, and well, I’ve always been a quiet person, you know? Also, my guardians hated me and never signed the Hogsmeade permission, that’s why I never visited your place,” he told her with a weak smile.

“Ah, that’s too bad, I knew I wasn’t going crazy when I realized I couldn't recognize you… Someone like you, it’s definitely hard to miss,” she said with a smile.

She was checking his muscles and his face. She couldn’t deny that the young man was attractive. Harry was pretending not to notice what she was doing, and he couldn’t help but feel nostalgic about the days when he used to come here with Hermione and Ron.

He smiled at the memory of him and Ron looking at the older woman from a distance while Hermione rolled her eyes and continued reading a book. Yes, those were the good days. Sadly, the war had to happen and fuck everything up.

He gave Dumbledore and the order more than they need to destroy Voldemort, they just need to get rid of the horcruxes, he doesn’t want a war to happen in this timeline because if that were the case he would have to intervene and that’s a part of him that he wanted to leave behind, he didn’t want to be a warrior nor a savior anymore.

Harry quickly shook off his thoughts and decided to chat with the older bartender as they ate. They talked about Hogwarts, what she likes to do in her free time, her marital status, and it seems like she’s single and she doesn’t have children, which sounds like a dream to Harry. She was a successful business owner, and she wasn’t even forty.

“That was really good, I was starving,” Harry said as he finished eating.

“I’m glad you liked it. I made it myself,” she told him as she started to pick up the dishes.

“Well, that explains why it was so good, you know what they say, if the food is made by a beautiful woman, it tastes even better,” he winked at her, and she giggled.

“Who says that?” She asked and continued giggling.

“I will say that from today onwards,” he declared, and her smile became bigger.

Soon, there was a silence, but it wasn’t an awkward one. They were staring into each other’s eyes. They didn’t have to worry about the stares because Harry got a private table; however, they couldn’t stop themselves, and suddenly, their lips were joined. Neither of them knew why they did it, but they didn’t care; they wanted more.

It’s clear they were attracted to the other, and they knew what this was going to lead to, and the most interesting thing is that they didn’t care at all.

“You know… I have a private room, and I have some free time… Would you like to go there?” She didn’t have to ask him twice.

Harry nodded, knowing very well where this was going.
