Chapter #11: The boss of me.

It’s been a tiring week. More bodies have appeared; the case is starting to become a mess for Bellatrix and her team. If things keep going this way, the ICW will get involved, which is going to make things harder, and the stress is clearly making everybody nervous, especially Bellatrix, who has been very upset these last few days.

“Weasley, how many times do I have to tell you that this report is wrong? You have to rewrite it again!” Bellatrix demanded.

“Again? But this is the third time already!” Complained the redhead, who was not so happy about the situation.

“You’re going to rewrite it until it’s perfect. I don’t care if it takes you ages or if you have to go back to Hogwarts to learn how to write a proper report, it needs to be perfect!” Bellatrix said angrily.

Ron could only roll his eyes before he grabbed the report and went back to the office he shared with Harry. The dark-haired wizard was focused on a map on a wall, with many locations marked with pins. Ron was looking at his best friend with an annoyed expression.

“Hey there, lover boy… You need to do something about your wife!” Ron complained as he placed the report on his desk. “She’s going to drive me insane because of this report!” Ron sighed as he sat.

However, Harry was completely focused on whatever task he was working on.

“Harry… Are you there?” Ron questioned his best, a bit worried about his behavior.

Harry had a tired expression; it seemed like he had been overworking himself with this case. The recent murders of many werewolves hit him very close, because of Remus Lupin, a man who was like his uncle and whom his parents had known since they were at Hogwarts, he felt like he needed to do more; the last thing he wanted was for Remus to become the next victim.

Even though the older wizard was very strong, they were facing someone who clearly knew how to handle werewolves enough to play with them before he murdered them and exposed them as if they were some kind of attractions, or at least Harry was feeling like the criminal wanted them to look like that.

“HARRY!” The dark-haired wizard’s thoughts were interrupted.

He looked with annoyance at the source that interrupted his thoughts, but then he calmed down when he saw that the person was no other than Ron Weasley, his best friend.

“What is it, Ron? I’m kind of busy right now, I’m trying to find a pattern here,” Harry said as he analyzed the map with the locations where the bodies were found.

Ron took a look at what Harry did, and he couldn’t help but sigh.

“We all know the locations where the bodies were found, Harry. It doesn't make any sense, looking too deeply into it. No one saw anything,” Ron said before sighing.

“Don’t discard anything, Ron, no matter how small; every detail is important if we want to find the culprit behind these horrible crimes. We need to look at every angle!” Harry’s tone reminded Ron of Bellatrix’s tone.

The redhead couldn’t help but shudder; it seems like his best friend was becoming more and more like her, and he didn’t know how to feel about that fact.

“You’re starting to sound like her, mate,” Ron couldn’t help but smirk.

Harry remained silent for a few moments.

“I don’t know if I should feel angry or flattered by that,” Harry told him with a dry tone.

Ron chuckled.

“So… What’s it like to be married? I guess you're having lots of sex, man, I’m so jealous, I have no one when I come back home… The life of a low-rank Auror like me is not good,” Ron sighed.

“My married life… It’s been neither bad nor the best, it's been more like... Neutral, I guess?” Harry admitted while he scratched the back of his head.

He grabbed a chocolate bar and started to eat. He knew he needed to eat something better; it had been hours since his last proper meal, however he was so busy with the case that he hadn’t had time for that.

“Well, that’s disappointing,” Ron admitted.

“Trust me I would like to say that my married life it’s incredible but nothing much has changed, Bellatrix and I, we have a duty that we need to fulfill before our first year as a married couple, however, with the case and all this, we haven’t had proper time to keep working on that objective,” Harry sighed defeated.

Before they could say anything else, the person they were talking about appeared at the door.

“Weasley… You have to rewrite that report again!” She complained.

“Uh, boss… You already told me that…” Ron was starting to lose his mind.

The woman was beautiful and fierce; however, her tone and her attitude were driving the redhead insane.

“Now listen… If you don’t want to work as a ministry guard, then you’re going to do as you’re being told!” Bellatrix demanded.

Ron was about to say something else; however, Harry was the one who decided to stand up to herself.

“Potter, what are you—” Bellatrix was about to snap.

“Calm down,” Harry didn’t ask, and didn’t suggest.

It was more like an order. And the fact that made this situation more strange was the fact that he said that in the calmest possible tone.

“Potter… I’m the boss here, and all of you have to follow my lead, you have to do what you’re being told to do or else…” The woman wasn’t happy.

“Or else what?” Harry questioned with a raised brow. “Boss, you need to calm down. We’re working as much and as fast as we can, but there are limits that not even we as magical users can surpass,” Harry said with a serious tone.

Bellatrix was about to argue; however, Harry wasn’t finished.

“I know how you feel, boss, you want to catch the bastard that’s committing all those crimes, and trust me, I’m on the same boat as you,” Harry said as he pointed at the map he had been working on.

Bellatrix took a look at it with an arched brow.

“Is this what you’ve been doing the whole evening?!” Bellatrix couldn’t believe it.

“Yes,” Harry answered without hesitation.

He knew she was going to get angry anyway, so he might as well get over this situation as soon as possible.

“I can’t believe it… While everyone’s been working their asses off, you’ve been… Playing with this?” She couldn’t believe it.

“I’m not playing… I figured out something that could help us get a suspect,” Harry told her with a serious tone.

“Oh, really? What did you find?” She asked with a sarcastic tone.

She thought he was only saying that to get out of trouble.

Now she was waiting for whatever excuse he had ready to excuse all the time he wasted on this.

“All the bodies were placed in Wiltshire,” he answered with a calm tone.

“And that’s important because…?” She was starting to lose her patience.

“The bodies were placed in very specific and niche areas; an outsider would’ve placed them close to Stonehenge as it’s the most well-known place in Wiltshire; however, the person behind the murders knew what they were doing with the placement,” Harry answered with a smirk.

Then he clarified his voice as he saw that his wife and boss didn’t see where he was going.

“This means one thing… The person behind the murders is from Wiltshire, which could help us find persons of interest… How many witches and wizards does Wiltshire have?” He asked with a grin.

Bellatrix was about to argue with his theory; however, she couldn’t continue as she couldn't help but find his theory convincing.
