Chapter #21: By any means necessary.
Harry arrived at the hospital as fast as possible. There, he was greeted by the Weasleys, and they were all wearing sad expressions. It made sense for them to behave like that; they were just told by the healers that Ron was in a coma, and to say Harry was angry would be an understatement.
“How did the attack happen?” Harry asked Ron's family with a worried expression.
“An explosion in his apartment, I don’t know what Ron did, but it seems like his time in the Auror forces helped him because the experts said that he shouldn't have survived the explosion, and yet, he managed to make a shield powerful enough to not get killed but not powerful enough to avoid the explosion,” Ginny told him with tears in her eyes.
This situation was getting out of control, and there was no other way to end this. There was no time to play around; he needed to find Lucius and his friends and kill them all. They couldn’t continue being alive; they had shown that they had no regard for other people, so Harry came to the conclusion that they didn’t deserve to live.
Before he could say something else, Tonks arrived with a team of Aurors. They came to protect the Weasleys as the whole country is in chaos; there have been attacks everywhere, and even the Muggle world has been affected.
“They killed Johnson, Harry,” Tonks informed him.
Harry nodded, he was feeling a bit conflicted, Johnson sentenced Lucius, but at the same time, Lucius made his career, the judge gave him a lighter punishment than he deserved, causing the current situation they were in.
“It seems like his decision not to sentence Lucius to death has finally come to bite him in the ass, right?” Asked Harry with a bitter laugh.
Tonks sighed.
“We need to find him and then kill him,” Harry finally told his fellow Auror.
“I know,” Tonks agreed with him, which surprised him as she always tried to be the voice of reason.
You know things are very fucked up when people like Tonks, who are against the use of excessive force, decide to forget about that and just finish the job with any means possible.
“Tonks… I know what I’m going to say is going to sound crazy, but if we don’t get rid of him, I fear that our world would be in danger,” Harry sighed. “We need to find him; it doesn't matter if we have to use illegal methods to achieve that,” Harry finally snapped.
He was expecting Tonks to scream at him and tell him that he was insane; he was expecting her to threaten to call Amelia, but instead, she looked at him straight in the eyes and nodded.
“Let’s do it,” she told him with a serious tone.
“Tonks, I know I’m not—Wait, a minute, you're agreeing with this?” He asked, completely taken aback by her response.
“Yes… We need to stop this by any means possible; I don’t care how, but we need to stop those people!” Tonks said angrily, and Harry nodded.
“You know very well that this is going to fuck our careers, right? We could even end up in Azkaban,” Harry tried to warn her.
He was willing to do anything to get rid of Lucius and his band just to end this once and for all, but most of all, he wanted the world to be safe for his child, his family, and his friends. There was no place in this world for Lucius and the people who saved him.
“Yes… I know that very well, and I know that we could die, and I don’t care… I can’t stay like this while other people like my family and Hermione are in danger because they’re not part of that pureblood perfection those people want,” Tonks said with a desperate tone.
Harry was happy to have her on his side; she was one of the strongest and fiercest people he knew.
“Very well, let’s get out of here then,” Harry and Tonks agreed.
They said their goodbyes to the Weasleys, and once they got out of the hospital, they decided that it was time to have a talk and discuss how they were going to move from this point onwards.
“So, do you have a plan, Harry?” Asked the metamorph.
“I’m glad you asked that because you’re a key part of that plan,” Harry smirked at her.
Tonks felt a bit worried, but in the end, she decided to trust Harry. She knew he was a very capable wizard, so she decided to let him take the lead. It was weird to follow someone younger, but this was not the right time to complain about those things.
A few hours later…
Draco and Narcissa Malfoy were back from their latest trip to Gringotts. They were carrying some bags filled with gold, and they were about to pack everything and ship it somewhere else.
“Do you think this will be enough?” Draco asked desperately.
“I don’t know but—” They couldn’t continue as they were suddenly hit with stunners.
A few seconds later, they were brought back, but then they realized that they were tied to chairs.
“That plan of yours or sneaking into Malfoy’s manor was good, I'm not going to lie,” Tonks admitted.
“Yes, you were key because you’ve been here previously. I know they had it hidden under the Fidelius charm even before all this happened, but I knew you had been here countless times,” Harry told her with a calm expression.
“Potter… Nymphadora,” said Narcissa as she gritted her teeth.
“Please, Aunty, don’t hate us, but we need your help,” Tonks tried to play nicely.
“You two are committing a crime… Aren’t you supposed to protect citizens? This is where my taxes go to?!” Draco couldn’t believe it.
“Please, Malfoy, your family barely pays taxes, I know that very well because the Potter family has the same “tax funder” break policy that barely takes from us, we pay the regular percentage because we don’t think we’re special… But I know you’re not paying shit,” Harry spat.
This wasn’t the time to talk about taxes, though.
“Let’s get this over with, Malfoy… Tell me where Lucius is!” Harry demanded without hesitation.
Both mother and son were shocked to hear that demand, and soon they looked away.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about… We don’t know where that criminal is!” Narcissa said with a fake outraged tone.
Harry remained silent for a few moments.
“What do you think hurts more? The cruciatus curse or a stinging hex on your crotch?” Harry asked the blonde man.
Both mother and son were confused by Harry’s question.
“What kind of—” Malfoy couldn’t continue as he realized what Potter was thinking of doing, and neither option sounded great for the blonde.
“You wouldn’t dare… That would be a crime, you would go to jail,” Draco said worriedly.
“I don’t have anything to lose, Malfoy, the woman I love doesn’t remember me, and she’s in danger as long as your father is free… So, you can tell us everything you know or you're going to regret protecting your father,” Harry asked with a smirk.
“I will never—” Draco said angrily.
“Stop it, Draco… Just tell him!” Narcissa spoke this time.
Harry and Tonks looked at her with curious expressions.
“He threatened us, we didn't want to help him… We're sorry!” Narcissa started to sob.
Draco wanted to get angry at his mother for being a snitch; however, he soon started to cry as he realized the gravity of their situation.
