Chapter #6: New allies.

It’s been a week since Hermione and Ron left, a week since he brought Luna back to life. That day when he and Luna had sex, he was dreaming about him and the blonde just living alone, together, and forgetting about the rest of the world; however, after the amazing sex session, they decided to forget about those things.

It was time for duty. Harry worked for decades to bring civilization back, and he was going to do it, with a few in-between rules, of course. It was important to create a better society than the one they had before Voldemort turned everyone into statues.

That’s why they needed people to help him reach this dream. It should be no surprise that Luna agreed with Harry’s idea; she was one of the people who suffered the most during the war. He didn’t know what she went through at Malfoy’s manor, but considering what he knew happened to Hermione, he could only guess, and he didn’t like to think about that.

That’s why it was better to focus on their task. Neville was the first to be brought back after Luna, and when he told him about what he planned to do, he agreed, which made Harry very happy. He was also very into the idea of creating a world in which there were no barriers between wizards and muggles.

Then the next one was Hannah Abbott, apparently, during the last awful year at Hogwarts, she and Neville became close friends, and Harry was able to tell that the blonde had a crush on Neville. Harry hoped Neville noticed her; he deserved to be happy.

Susan Bones, Hannah’s best friend, was depetrified too, and Harry could swear that she wanted him; however, sex wasn’t the thing that concerned him the most right now as Luna was warming his bed every day and night. Cho Chang was another person he decided to revive.

Ginny was back too, and even though they broke up, they couldn’t help but kiss once they met again, and Harry was sure that the redhead wanted to get back together, Harry wasn’t sure about that considering he plans to take multiple wives, and he doesn’t know if she would love that idea.

It’s crazy, but spending more than twenty years alone has made him crave women a lot, so the monogamous Harry is gone for now. He wants to have fun with a lot of ladies; however, he prefers not to think about that right now,

It was difficult to bring a lot of people back because the spell required lots of energy, and for the moment, Harry was the only one who knew how to depetrify people; he didn’t want to think wrongly about his friends, but after what Hermione did, it was hard to trust that spell to someone else.

However, even though they were a small group, they were more than enough to clean the castle and bring it back to its glory, and now that they had a base of operations, they needed to figure out how they were going to rebuild civilization.

“And I swear that I won’t use my power to harm people unless it’s necessary, and if I become a tyrant and I break my promise to create a world in which magical people and muggles co-exist, I allow my magic to kill me,” Harry declared in front of the people that he brought back.

It was a magical vow; he wanted to make sure they didn’t see him as some kind of Voldemort in training. He wanted to be fair, and he wanted to do things right; however, he knew he was going to make some difficult decisions, but that’s okay; he knows that it’s going to be necessary.

“Harry… I don’t want to sound selfish, but I’m worried about my parents. I would like to find their statues and see if they’re safe,” Cho said shyly.

“Don’t worry, Cho; we’ll just have a quick conversation with the rest, and then you can do whatever you want.” She suddenly smiled at his answer. “If it makes you feel better, I’ve practiced with the statues of Death Eaters; I used many spells, a lot of them were dangerous, some are forbidden if you ask me. I threw giant rocks and buildings at them, and the statues were completely fine,” he added, and she sighed, relieved.

Harry did a lot of experimentation during these twenty years.

“Now, I know this is a weird situation because I’m not the Harry you guys used to know… I somehow managed to avoid the curse; I don’t know why, and I don’t know how, but I’m glad it happened because, thanks to that, I was able to find the cure,” he said with a calm tone.

All of his friends nodded.

“I’m really surprised you were able to avoid it, Harry… It seems like you’re truly a special person,” Neville couldn’t help but admit.

“I have a few theories about why I was able to escape, but don’t worry about that; we'll discuss that later. For now, let’s focus on the important things.” Harry tried to change the subject.

“Yeah… How are we going to save so many people with that spell that you invented... You said that it drains your energy, right?” Ginny asked with a worried tone.

“Yes, you’re right to question that, Ginny,” Harry sighed. “I plan to teach all of you the spell to break the curse with just one condition: we’ll have to think carefully about the people we plan to bring back.” Harry’s words were serious but logical.

“Yeah, we don’t want people like Malfoy back.” Neville couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Maybe his mother would be a good addition,” Harry said as he scratched his chin.

Everyone looked at him with surprised expressions.

“She helped me back when Voldemort shot the killing curse at me; she lied to him about my life status,” he confessed with a smirk.

Everyone started to whisper, and Harry knew he was sounding insane, but he didn’t care; he had a debt with that woman, and he was going to pay it in any way he could. Without her, defeating Voldemort wouldn’t have been possible. Harry is a man who always pays his debts, no matter who the person he owes is.

Meanwhile on the other side of the country…

“I can’t believe he is…” Ron said as they started at the figure they’d just brought back.

It was an older wizard with long dark hair. He had a completely grim expression, and he seemed kind of disappointed to be there.

“Ah… Just like I suspected, just when I thought I was dead,” he said with his typical sarcastic tone.

“Professor Snape…” Hermione said, surprised.

Hermione was told something by Harry: only alive people were turned into statues; the dead had to be buried. That’s why when Hermione found the statue of Professor Snape, she didn’t hesitate to bring him back; someone like him was a very good addition to what they were planning to do; he would know what to do as she and Ron were completely lost.

“I was left to die by the dark lord; of course, he wanted me to suffer, so the poison was going to kill me in a couple of hours, as there was no cure against Nagini's venom. I was still alive when that light covered everyone,” he sighed. “Give me my wand, Weasley,” he demanded as he saw Ron carrying it.

“No… No, before you swear allegiance to me.” Ron’s words were cold.

To say Hermione was surprised by his change of attitude would be a complete understatement.
