Chapter #22: Evil?

Harry was disappointed; they at least found the location where Hermione was living. However, there was a problem: they couldn’t find anyone at that place; there was no sign of Hermione or the others. This was going to be a problem; however, this was also telling him everything he needed to know… Hermione didn’t want to see him again.

It was difficult to accept that fact; he always thought of her as his best friend, the one who never abandoned him even when the world hated him, just like during the Triwizard tournament days, she was the backbone and the reason why he didn’t die in the first task.

“Well, Hermione… If that’s how you feel then, I guess I should better leave you alone,” Harry told himself. “I just hope you’re happy,” he declared and soon decided that he was going to move on from Hermione.

When they arrived, they were greeted by the team, who, after seeing the long faces, realized that the mission failed. Everyone decided to leave Harry to think; he liked to be alone to think when he was disappointed. However, there was someone who didn’t want to leave him like that, and soon, he heard a knock on his door.

“Come in,” he said, a bit frustrated; he wanted to be alone.

He heard slow steps from someone wearing high heels. He looked up, and then he saw a pretty redhead; she was dressed like an office lady with fishnets, a tight short skirt, and a tight white blouse that wasn’t completely buttoned, as she was letting a bit of her cleavage show, and what a huge cleavage she had.

Even though Harry had been complaining after his misery got interrupted, he couldn’t deny that the sight was welcome; then he looked up to see a beautiful witch with long red hair and blue eyes.

“Susan,” Harry said with a calm tone.

“Hi, Harry… Can I join you?” She asked with a calm tone.

Harry nodded slowly, and then she entered and closed the door.

“Is there something I can do for you, Susan?” Harry asked a bit hesitantly.

He wanted to be left alone so he could indulge in his own misery; however, he couldn’t deny that he was pleased to see her. He always knew Susan was going to end up becoming a very beautiful woman, but he never thought she would become this beautiful.

“No, I’m okay, Harry, actually… I came here because I sensed that you weren’t okay,” she said with a concerned tone.

Harry sighed; he didn’t want to talk.

“It’s okay, Harry… If you need someone to vent, I’m all ears. I don’t know if you know this, but I’m actually studying what muggles call psychology. I didn’t know that’s something you could study, so I think I can help you ease your mind,” Susan started.

She was a bit worried that he might reject her, and the thought appeared in Harry’s head too; however, he needed to know if he was going insane or if he was just imagining things.

“Susan… Do you think I’m evil?” Asked the dark-haired wizard with a concerned tone.

Susan remained silent for a few moments.

“Evil… That’s a concept that depends on who you ask. From the perspective of a Death Eater, you’re probably the evilest person alive,” she answered with a calm tone. “However, they’re not very reliable to judge what’s right and what’s wrong,” she added, and Harry nodded.

She was right in her reasoning; however, things weren’t as simple as that.

“Why do you think you’re evil?” Susan asked with an arched brow.

That was a good question; he never considered himself to be evil, but he was worried he could become like that, and sadly it all started because of someone.

“I… I just… It’s because Hermione thinks so,” Harry confessed with a sad tone.

Susan nodded and urged him to continue.

“She didn’t tell me how she felt; she just felt that I was evil and dangerous and thus, she decided to run away and hide. It’s clear she’s afraid of me, and all because I tried to recreate our world to avoid someone like Voldemort appearing once again,” Harry said desperately.

Susan nodded.

“Well, your plans sound a bit Machiavellian,” she told him, and he looked at her as if she had grown another head. “This whole new civilization parts from the idea that the ends justify the means, and in this case, your end is to create a world in which someone like Voldemort doesn’t appear once again… Even if you have to put restrictions on people’s freedom like the restriction of certain spells,” She clarified, and Harry gasped.

She was right; even though their society seemed perfect, there was a bit of control, and all because he was scared that someone like Voldemort would appear once again.

“However, I don’t think you’re evil… Your intentions are good; it’s just that the road to hell is paved with good intentions,” she added, and Harry nodded.

“I don’t want to be evil, Susan, I don’t want to be like Voldemort,” Harry confessed with a worried tone.

Susan remained silent for a few moments, and then she took out a vial and gave it to him.

“What’s this, Susan?” He asked with an arched brow.

“It’s Polyjuice potion. I want you to drink it and come with me to see something. I hate asking you that, but if you truly want to enjoy the experience, it's not a good idea if people recognize you,” Susan winked at him.

Susan was acting very strangely; however, he was curious to see what she wanted him to see, and so, he took the potion, and soon, he started to change; now he looked like a random muggle man.

“Come with me.” She grabbed his wand and then apparated in the middle of the city.

Many people were cheering and having fun.

“Susan, what are we doing?” Asked Harry with an arched brow.

She put a finger on her lips to silence him and just listen.

“Dear, I love that I have more free time to spend with my family,” a man said to his wife while their children played a card game.

“It’s all thanks to our leader Harry… Thanks to magic and his ideas, now we only have to work four hours per day, and yet, we still earn enough to live more than fulfilling lives,” the wife said, and he agreed.

Before Harry could say something, a huge thunder was heard around.

“Oh, that was rough. I hope there are no outages with the impending thunderstorm,” a random guy said.

“Don’t worry, thanks to Harry and his magic, outages are a thing of the past,” Harry was surprised to hear those words.

Then they walked to an arcade place.

“This is amazing, I didn’t know muggles had things like these. I thought Harry Potter was crazy for destroying the Statute of Secrecy, but this is amazing!” One witch said as she played a racing game.

“See Harry, I don’t think that’s the way people would talk about an evil person, and I also know you’re not evil,” she confessed, and Harry arched a brow.

“And how do you know that?” He asked, confused.

“Because I have never fallen for evil people, Harry.” She confessed and then kissed him.

She took him by surprise, but then, after the witch who was playing that racing game reached a high score and celebration music appeared, Harry kissed Susan back.
