Chapter #32: A new world.

Five years, that’s how long it’s been since Harry started resurrecting people, five years since the crazy idea of making a new civilization was started, Harry didn’t think his idea would work that well but in the end, it turns out that it did, thanks to the combination of magic and technology, things were very optimistic with the futuristic design of their current technology, if he could describe it, in a sense, the new technology looked to be taken out of a science fiction book.

The world finally reached the cleanest energy generation ever, and the most amazing thing was that the power was so cheap to produce that it was now free for everyone; as of today, the population of the world has been restored to ninety-nine percent, with one percent as a margin of error.

The world looked to be taken from the future, but contrary to that dystopian future many authors were predicting, this was different; there was no cyberpunk world, just technology advanced enough so people could have what they need. You still had to work, but long gone is the worry of spending a fortune on a home when the state, with the help of magic, can create houses out of nowhere at once.

Another interesting thing is that the magical population has increased, and Harry feels a bit embarrassed knowing that he contributed to that; all the female friends he had sex with managed to produce a new Potter because, yes, Harry decided to legalize polygamy.

The reasoning was simple: wizards and magical people needed to reproduce, so the only way for that to become a reality was by making multiple relationships something legal, a thing that was condemned back then; of course, that decision also started as a selfish wish.

Harry loved all his lovers and he wanted to be with them for a long time and there was only way to achieve that and that was by marrying them, however, in the old world one magical marriage was allowed but now that the circumstances were different, he finally had the life that he wanted as he was surrounded and loved by the multiple women he slept with and their family.

Ginny has given him a son named James, Luna has given him a son named Sirius, Cho a girl named Daisy, Daphne a boy named Henry, Susan a girl named Lily, and Hermione has given him a son named William, and all of them are magical; there’s no doubt about that.

The people who got up in arms and tried to overthrow Hermione back in their city were now spending the rest of their days in Azkaban, well, the ones who survived the siege were doing that, and the craziest outcome out of this situation was the fact that Ron Weasley, the man who always bragged about dating beautiful women when he was a king he ended up marriyng the woman who was mother of the kids that got him in trouble with that paper game he created and that caused the council to put him under house arrest.

The redhead was the one who changed the most. At first, he wanted vengeance against Hermione; that was more than obvious when they finally faced each other after so long. It was a very awkward situation, to be honest. But eventually they decided to forgive each other.

It was something they needed to do if they wanted to move on with their lives, but for them the situation was different; in the end they managed to solve their differences. Harry is now older and wiser, and thus a decision was made regarding the new project they were working on in the Department of Mysteries in collaboration with the Muggle scientists and the Unspeakables.

Soon Harry reached the time chamber, as the team kept working on the project, and there he found Hermione; she was the right person to work on this project, as it had something to do with something she and he had 'played' with in the past.

“Hello,” she said before she gave him a short kiss.

“Hello, Mrs. Potter,” Harry said with a grin.

They shared another kiss, but then they remembered where they were, and they stopped before things got out of control.

“How’s the project going?” Harry asked in a calm tone.

“We’re working on it as fast as we can,” she said in a calm tone.

Harry nodded.

“I still find it crazy to believe you know? A time machine… That’s something that shouldn’t be possible. I should’ve told you that you were insane, but here we are on our way to create the first time machine in history,” she couldn’t help but sigh.

“Hermione… I hate to mess with time as much as you do, but it’s something we need to do,” he answered with a serious tone.

She then hugged him.

“I’m sorry, it’s just that… I’m scared about us, you know? About our children and everything we’ve built, the timeline will be messed up, and there will be terrible consequences… If things go wrong, we're going to disappear,” Hermione expressed her concerns as calmly as possible.

It was hard for her to keep her composure, and when she finished, Harry couldn’t help but sigh.

“I understand your worries, Hermione… But I can assure you one thing: our timeline won’t be messed up; we’re not going to disappear!” Harry tried to cheer her.

“But what if it happens and—” Harry decided to silence his wife with a kiss.

Those actions took her by surprise; however, she soon started to kiss him back. The kiss was simple, but little by little it was becoming more and more heated, and when the kiss ended, they couldn’t help but hold each other.

“Listen, Hermione… We want to send a message to the past so they could have the cure before we did. The Harry of the past will have it, and things will get solved easily, but that’s not going to destroy this timeline; it's actually going to split it,” Harry explained.

Hermione wanted to argue; however, Harry wasn’t over yet.

“Look… Hermione… If sending a message causes our destruction, then we enter a paradox because if this universe isn’t supposed to happen, then how did they get the message that messed the timeline to begin with?” He asked with a raised brow.

His logic was interesting, to say the least.

“Yes… That could work; this could create two branches,” she said, kind of disappointed in herself, as she never considered that angle.

Suddenly the doors were opened, and the rest of Harry’s women were present alongside their children.

“There’s a good reason why we’re doing this, Hermione… We were stolen twenty years off our lives; I think it’s time for us to recover that time that was stolen from us,” Harry declared as his lovers and their children joined him.

He hugged them all, but he especially appreciated this moment that he was sharing with his family, and Hermione was in the same state, which made her realize that this was indeed something they needed to do; they needed to warn the past so they wouldn't go through the same as they did.

They don’t know what's going to happen from now on, but one thing was clear: Hermione wanted to be part of this. She wanted their past selves to have normal lives, and she knows they will; that's for sure, and maybe a new empire won't be needed for that, but that's a story for another day.
