The ruby anime really went in a weird direction huh. Considering the second class animal people this always feels funny in this universe. Considering it’s you though I take things as face value as possible. Just a cute couple having a bit of fun. Keep doing you. The pet play never disappoints.

Yes but there are also regular animals in their verse as well, Zwei obviously comes to mind. So it's never struck me as too odd to add a little pet play. Wouldn't be surprised if Fauness have pets of their own.

the Faunus seem to be cat people if the leadership says anything. That might even explain why that chameleon girl was worshiping… Blake

Cat people, dog people, animal people in general really. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details but typically the Faunus are normal humans with a single animal characteristic. (Ears, tail, claws, horns, etc.) I think that it is in Volume 4 of the anime that we see their home country in a few episodes.

Okay, that was my bad. I meant cat people as in they like cats as best animal. Every important leader of the Faunus we meet in the show is some flavor of cat person. It was a running joke in the fandom that dog people were no good at leadership and then the first splinter group we meet is lead by twin twink foxes. As for the race themselves it is an amazing zoo crew. On the sliding scale of human with cat ears at one and just a literal animal at ten the Faunus max out at a soft 3. And most of that has the series magic system doing the heavy lifting. Those threes in particular are a man with a functional scorpion tail and a 7 ft tall bear man who is one fur coat away from being a bear.
