Today's Ukulele lesson is "Your Song" by Elton John. This tune is a lot of fun to play. You'll need a capo on the first fret to match the original recording, but we are just playing it a half step down in the key of D today, even though the exact same way with a capo on the 1st fret will move it to the key of Eb, the key Elton sings in.

The song is composed of an an intro, verse and chorus, a different but with some overlap and nothing too tricky except for the falling bass line that we have to play over a B minor chord. If you are a true beginner that part might test your skills a little bit.

Yay! To Cindy.

Heaps of fun. Love that E9. It was good to listen to how you were backing of the intensity of the strumming pattern at times. D is pretty low for lady-voices or sat better in the upper octave.

Tyler Austenfeld

Yeah, this is pretty low. He sings it in Eb, but it would still be more geared towards the Baritone end of the male voice and would sound better a whole octave up for the ladies.
