I love melody. I love harmony. I love the way melodies interact with harmony. I love resolution. I love discord. I love it when a melody has discord only to later have resolution.

You know what else I love? Chocolate milk, but that isn't what we are here to talk about, you know what else I love? Studying songs and seeing how the melody works, why it works, the harmony, the phrasing, I just love to analyze songs.

Why? Part of it is a just curiosity wondering how something works, the other part is when I understand how my favorite songs work I can apply that knowledge to my own song writing and create songs that pay homage and have elements of my favorite composers.

So, you lovely learner out there in learning land, interested in case studies?

can't sing and cord melodies sound great without singing, but I also liked the other two challenges, I play most days but I never seem to really get the songs completely under my belt and that is the difference of the challenges, I keep my Uki next to me and do it again and again until I get there. Thanks so much

Tyler, I enjoy songwriting but know very little about what works well. I have eagerly watched the videos related to chord progressions, chord melody challenges and other that have helped, While a video here and there has been great , I ‘d love to be able to analyze a song and understand it and HEAR it in other songs and APPLY it. How about a 10 day songwriting challenge?
