Lean On Me - Bill Withers - Chord Melody - Instrumental Ukulele Tutorial with Tabs

New Ukulele every Wednesday and Saturday Bill Withers. Bill. Withers. A legend. One of my all time favorite artists, he is on my Mt Rushmore of musical influences. I love his voice, his song writing, his story telling and his personal story, and I love his positive message. Lean On Me is no exception. A basic melody, with basic chord and a basic message. You need help, I'm here for you, and when I need help I am going to need you to be here for me, too. Today we are putting that positivity into a chord melody tutorial that is pretty easy to play, a couple of barre chords but nothing to gnarly, in fact the only full 4 string barre chords are at the very end of the the tutorial as we make use of the open G string for G and C chords that are up the fretboard, making this cover both fun and approachable, a great first song if you are new to this style of music. If you are new to chord melody you should check out our chord melody challenge, that will really help you jump start this style of play. This song wouldn't be considered a beginner ukulele song, but it would be considered a beginner chord melody tutorial. As always we will walk you through the entire thing, note for note, strum for strum helping you get the whole thing down one piece at a time, then at the end of the song we will do a full play-along, tabs on the screen, to show you how all the pieces of this tune come together.
