Today we are going to learn how to play a song that was written about... a road. That is right, not a love ballad, not a song about power, life, success, money, not a song about opression or depression, it is a song about... a road. Route 66. Written by Bobby Troup, made famous by Nat King Cole, with covers by Bing Crosby, John Mayer, Depeche Mode, the Rolling Stones and of course, Chuck Berry. This is based on the Chuck Berry version. At its core it is a super easy beginner song and we are going to take it that way, as a beginner song, but if you are feeling good with chords and strum patterns you can jump to the play-along after that we are going to learn 3 licks that came from Chuck's solo, too.
