I normally tend not to share erotic stuff in the previews as I feel they work better in context, but I really liked this shot and I wanted to share it.

Shots where the characters appear mostly black against a background have something captivating about them. They have a simple aesthetic that can give an image an intensity that I really like, and somehow I often find myself drawn into them. Yes, I like this shot very much.

Yeah, I love shots like that too. The way the picture forms by the light in the negative space gives it such a mystical feel. I can't quite figure out what this technique is called because it seems like part contre-jour, part chiaroscuro, but I do know that I like it. Definitely something to be used sparingly, but it is striking when used.

It would be quite difficult to pull off for a game using 3D rendered artwork. Facial expressions are very important, especially the subtle changes and shifts as a conversation progresses. If the subject isn't lit well enough, those could be easily missed. I could see it working for a very stylized 2D game though.

The platform game Limbo by Playdead comes to mind. Anyway, I think if this style was used exclusively in an AVN, it could quickly lose much of its charm. Like many good things, it should be used rather sparingly, otherwise what was once good can just become ordinary.
