Yeah there's definitely sequels and remakes to this. There is Piranha II: The Spawning, then a remake in 1995 called Piranha (aka Piranhas), then a more modern remake called remake called Piranha 3D (2010) and Piranha 3DD (2012). Lmao

First watched this one sometime around the mid-80s when it was on a late night movie feature. The next day, my parents, brother, and I went over to visit some friends of ours at their house. While our parents hung out on the beach on their pond, we kids went in swimming. What I didn't know was that they had fish in their pond. So, I'm standing in chest-deep water when suddenly I felt something swimming around my ankles. First thing that went through my mind was the movie from the night before. I literally ran out of the pond. If you've ever seen Richard Pryor in "The Toy", it was just like that scene.

Ah the 1970s, when movies weren’t afraid to have kids killed off. The movie Grizzly had a vicious attack on a kid. You couldn’t do that nowadays.

There is a direct to TV remake that is awful but has Mila Kunis in it, so that's cool I guess

Carla Davis

Idk who chose this but sorry. 😆

I think an actual good Piranha film could be done today. It's a known IP and could be made cheap because the CGI wouldn't be all that complicated. People's fear of what's in the water is a very easy thing to take advantage of. It's one of those IP's that's had multiple films made, but they've all been shlocky, goofy, and badly made. A bigger studio (like Blumhouse, Amazon, or Apple) and a good team could do something much better with it.
