Such a shame the cliffside helicopter fight bugged out! And then almost immediately another example with the tank of where the game isn't great at teaching you how to actually solve the problem (you can actually shoot the turning turret with the rocket launcher) which is the sort of thing they really manage to nail with Half-Life 2.

Such a great episode!! I had loads of fun watching it! Though it IS a very frustrating game, so thank the devs for the quick save! But you are able to solve everything in the end! 🥰🥰

Amber: In the bit with the dam where you jumped to your death, there was no water there until you opened the gates with a valve which allowed water to flow out of the dam. It wasn't that the water didn't load, it was a dynamic change to the environment which wasn't obvious from your perspective 🖖🏼

The more I watch of you play through HL1 the more convinced I've never actually played it... lol I could have sworn I did back in the day but after the main area NONE of it looks even vaguely familiar. Oh well, it's new to me now! It sounds like you enjoy playing it though (most of the time) so I hope you give HL2 a shot. It's basically the same but more story-rich and stuff.

Yeah this is a really intense(ly long) section of the game, but you killed it. Quick saving is a godsend and absolutely meant to be abused. I'm loving the playthrough!

I just got caught up tonight... and you've been doing great! But... the game stays pretty INTENSE from this point forward. Based on watching your playthrough, I have some non-spoiler tips if you would like them. Ignore if you do not. 1) The "Hivehand" (alien homing weapon) is not very powerful, so it's only good for enemies at range, mild cornering (the homing ability is OK) and clearing out weak enemies like "Headcrabs." 2) The Tanks can be destroyed if you attack the turret with enough firepower. Attacking the body does no damage 3) Most of the weapons have a secondary fire. Some are more useful than others. For example, the secondary fire of the crossbow is a scope... effectively turning it into a sniper rifle. Just don't try to hit moving targets (the bolts are extremely slow). 4) As you progress through tougher areas, it's OK to start abusing your quick-save / quick-load. We won't judge. I have more but I'll shut up for now. I hope this helps!
