Sooo this was a lot of information so here it goes, the Aperture Science timeline in my head as follows: Shower curtain salesman tycoon buys salt mine for Science, rivalry with Black Mesa begins, they conduct shady experiments with human testing: first up using actual Olympians, astronauts and war heroes. Potentially gets exposed because missing and sick astronauts and what not: Aperture goes bankrupt. Also at some point they built the Borealis? I thought I might find an Easter Egg or something about it but haven't so far! Anyway, they then use poor people off of the street with nothing to lose. They then switched to using employees where testing was mandatory, before they transitioned to using androids to run the facility? Where was he getting this money from hahaha. Anyway, terrible place to work, Mr Johnson ate the moon rock gel, dies, puts Caroline in charge, then somehow they put her into Glados. Then the events of the comic take place, with Glados trying to kill them all constantly and they try to inhibit her from doing so. Does the rivalry with Black Mesa come into play in like a portal- teleport-technology rat race? They cut corners and used dangerous Science to try to win? I don't know, these are my thoughts so far! It was fun, potato Glados is adorable.

Perfect timing, Amber! I just finished part 1 and was lost trying to figure out what to do next. Now I don’t need to use my brain! Yay! All that remains to be said, is of course, Aaapple!

Wow you're spoiling us with content :), You've also saved my day as I just watched a show's finale that's left me feeling deflated lol so at least I have some good quality content to watch

Lol you got it in one, that is J.K. Simmons, he also played J. Jonah Jameson in the Raimi Spider-Man movies like you said.

Johno711

I love JK Simmons as Cave, honestly casting genius

...Apple! Based on your writeup I think you did miss an easter egg, I'd love if you did a little sweep of the chapters afterward to see all the secrets. Loved part 1, looking forward to watching this tonight.

Another great video Amber, loving how quickly your picking up all the lore and story, and yeah like you mentioned that "cute turret" did say some interesting things, with the context you have now should go back and listen to him again, sounds kinda like gibberish first time through but everything he says has reason As for things you missed? Go back to the area where you picked up PotatOS (potato GLaDOS), theres a door you missed (and looked at a few times), which i think you might like since you played HL ;) [ive not watched those, thats next on my watch list] Also at the main menu under "extras" theres some interesting videos you might like, explaining some game elements you've come across which are not necessarily explained in game, its also better you watch them now that the game has introduced you to Cave. (can ignore the "super 8" clip, that was just a trailer for movie that was releasing around same time, completely unrealted to portal)

Cave Johnson is one of my favourite parts of this game. Glados is amazing, Wheatley is amazing, but with J.K. Simmons voicing Cave it's just hard to top that performance. His "When life gives you lemons" speech is burned into my mind haha. Super fun episode! One of the reasons i like watching your content so much is because you're always trying to piece together lore and things, and this episode was full of that. Can't wait for the next one!

Happy to hear you're thinking about Stray and Detroit Become Human. When it comes to Detroit don't be afraid to reload a save if you make a bad choice or mess up a quick time event, some people might complain but I think more would complain about missing out on a better story path.
