Firstly: yay! Secondly I wanna rant a bit 😂 I've just seen your tweet about outer wilds. Can only say "shut the f*ck up" to people complaining - I thought it was a great playthrough. Games aren't about seeing everything, or doing everything perfectly, or interpreting everything the same way as others. Games like Outer Wilds are about the experience. The journey. The adventure.. And because of the nature of the game, people will play it different and interpret it differently. And that's okay. I've been around the indie game development scene for a while and I'd be gutted if people were telling others that they weren't enjoying games that I contributed to correctly. Your playthrough was excellent because it was honest and sincere like all of your playthroughs, and this trend of saying "you didn't enjoy the game the way I wanted you to enjoy it!!!" is super toxic towards the industry itself and needs to stop.

Thank you! I really let it bother me earlier but I played some more Zelda tonight and I feel a lot better! I think I get over sensitive about that kind of feedback or criticism because I loved the game! I just want to make sure I'm doing the best job possible with videos aha, plus it's just nerve wrecking to put yourself online and I like to have a little vent every now and then ahahaha. Seriously though thank you!

Hi there! New Patron and watcher here. I have a question regarding whether or not Patrons get early access to your gaming walkthrough videos, and if they do receive early access, then by how much time?

Randomgamer24

Unless this isn't the area to post such questions, which in that case I apologize.

Adam

Hey Randomgamer24, firstly welcome. Right now I believe this one we're commenting on is early access; it is unlisted on youtube but patrons can see it here and have the link to youtube. It's really up to the discretion of Amber on how early these releases are. I'd say it's about 2-3 days on average but I've seen it take close to a week? There may even be videos on here that don't get publicly released (There's a few on Hollow-tier like that).

Randomgamer24

I just watched the video up until the point where you leave the Pych/Hospital level and can I just say, I think you had the smoothest run of that level that I've seen out of any gamer. What I mean is that your gameplay on that level was on point and I think you sell yourself short when it comes to your skill and instinct with this game

Adam

This is one of the reasons I could never really do what you do. Thoughts and feelings are subjective and some people are dismissive when you don't have an objective reaction to something they themselves have have built up in their head. When I first played through the game, I did a lot less for a playthrough and then went back and explored a lot more and probably would have been crucified for not having as much empathy for characters I didn't really bond massively with and was more captivated by the mystery. That being said, it's still in my top 5 games of all time, and I think the DLC solidified it there. Another point to make is that as your channel grows and the people that love your content stick around; it'll drown out the toxicity. Don't beat yourself up, you're doing an incredible job.

Randomgamer24

Thanks for the speedy response, I understand now and I'm excited to have access to these videos even if it's just by a few days. Again, thanks for the clearing up.

Adam

You also get Discord access! The community on there are very nice.

Andy

I think you just have to remember that 99.99% of the comments are massively positive. You'll always get dissenting voices, especially as your audience develops, but your channel is growing and the VAST majority of people are loving your content - that's the main thing right? The people being overly critical are probably just "that" kind of person. Or maybe they've had a bad day and just happen to be taking it out in your comment section. You'll end up going insane if you let them get to you tho, so when it's only a tiny percentage of people, just ignore em. Looking forward to more Zelda!

TonyBadP5

Love the thumbnail for that one, there is so much joy in there! And maybe to add on to Andy's words: Sorry to be that affirmative, but you need to let it go. Whatever you put out there is done and out of your reach and the reactions you get should not weigh too much. You did it the way it felt natural to you and that is what drew in hundreds and hundreds of people in the first place. Just trust that you are enough to make it work! When I give a lecture to 50 people, I know that it will not be adapted to at least one of them (and to be honest, maybe a third of them). And some of them will hate me for that. You have now reached a point where you are viewed by dozens of thousands of people. There is for sure someone that has something bad to say, and also it is easier to be vocative about it on the Internet. Most of the time it is just childish of them to write it, they have had a bad day and want to blame it on something else... But on the other side, just remind yourself that even to them you give much more than what they give to you: they enjoy it enough to still be around and take the time to criticize. Again, you are enough to make it work! Ok, bye, take care! And hopefully I will find the time to play the Outer Wilds by myself soon to be able to watch your playthrough afterwards (and then realise how much your gameplay is smoother than mine ^^).

Myles Mikulic

Finally caught up with this playthrough and am thoroughly enjoying it.
