Mimi's Newsletter - New Class + Making Brushes (Patreon)

Hello lovelies! 🌷✨

What a big month it's been - I feel like the start of March was ages ago!

I've been staying with my parents while I'm back in Australia for a couple of months, they have a lovely property surrounded by trees and two very sweet dogs so I'm very lucky to stay here for a while.

Lots of fun things have been happening this month, mostly video content but I've always been enjoying playing around with making new brushes.

I made a new Skillshare class at the start of this month with the help of my partner Dan who did all of the filming and editing (thank goodness), so it's been nice seeing people enjoying that. It took us probably a full week each to get it scripted, filmed, edited and uploaded, but so worth the time.

It's about long-term success for artists and how we can build sustainable income streams, you can watch it here if you haven't already: Long-Term Success for Artists: Grow and Maintain Your Income Streams.

After we finished the new class I started making lots of textures and brush shapes to make some new texture brushes because I've been wanting to have a bit more variety in my textures. It takes quite a while to process everything but once I've got the textures and shapes made then I can do the fun bit of making brushes out of them!

I'm making a video about the full brush making process that I'll post on YouTube next month so if you've ever been interested in making your own brushes for Procreate or Photoshop hopefully it gives you a good insight.

Free time this month has been spent taking the dogs to run around at the beach, playing games with my family and going to see the Beauty and the Beast stage musical which was SO GOOD. Beauty and the Beast is probably my favourite Disney movie so I loved seeing it on stage!

What have you been up to this month? Will you be celebrating Easter this weekend? 💖
