Hello lovelies,

I hope that April has been kind to you and that you've been enjoying the change in seasons.

I'm still in Australia but have plans to be in Europe for the second half of the year, so I've been trying to make the most of the stable environment of being at home to get lots of projects done before travelling again.

I had been meaning to set up a proper email list for quite a long time so I finally got around to doing that this month, and I finished my third brush pack too! Both are projects that I wanted to have finished while I'm home so it feels good to have them completed, and now I'm going to focus more on illustrating and getting ahead on filming in May.

It's very, very rare that I'm ahead on anything so I'll be pleased with myself if I can have a couple of extra videos finished in advance! I'm planning to spend a little while in Italy over the summer so it'll be nice to have my work done ahead of time so that I can relax a bit more and enjoy the sunshine ☀️

So after a busy April Dan and I spent the weekend down at the Gold Coast to get away from the screens and spend time at the beach. It was so nice to get away just for two days and refresh, I always find that changing my environment and being outdoors to be such a good reset (sun and sand definitely helps as well)!

Sometimes it's hard to balance work and rest, especially when there are projects to complete that I'm excited to spend all my time on. When I'm working more - like I am at the moment - then I try and take lots of small breaks during the day, which is easy to do when my parents' dogs are always happy for attention!

I try to spend a little bit of time everyday getting out for a short walk to give my eyes a break, and watching some silly TV to give my brain a break (Love Island is my current choice), and I find that those microbreaks really help me stay healthy.

At the moment I'm working a bit more, but in the middle of the year I'll work a lot less, so for me it balances out across the different seasons and I love having that flexibility.

How do you balance things when you're busy?

So glad you got to spend a bit of time and enjoy the beach. It's always good to get some Vitamine D 🌞 It would be nice (when you have time, after all your projects) if you can maybe explain how you made and what you use for a mailing list? I'm an old fogie and would be interested in finding that out. Keep up the good work 🥰

I’m still working on the balance, but as an extrovert whenever my battery is drained from working on my WIPs or socializing, I’m trying to do better to vocalize when I need space to catch up on my reading or just going out for a walk😊
