Hello lovelies,

I've just drawn my final illustration for this month's club and it was fun to experiment with some more vibrant colours in this one! I still really like the first composition idea I drew as well though with the ladybugs holding a map so I think I have to draw that one as well 😄

So far in the club this month we’ve:

filled a sketchbook page with ideas relating to the prompt

then we explored some composition sketches from those ideas

and now we can take one of those composition ideas and create a final illustration from it

If you skipped the first activities and came straight to drawing a final illustration that's totally fine!

So I’ll show you what I created for this activity based on a sketch from activity 2:

This is my final illustration for the prompt 'a jungle adventure' - I quite like how bold this one is! I don't think I will use these colours all the time but it was nice to play with them.

Let me show you a quick breakdown of my illustration process and the basic palette that I used (which you can download below if you'd like to use it yourself):

My process went a little something like this:

First I drew a simple digital sketch based on the pencil sketch from the second activity.

Then I made that sketch layer about 30% opacity so that I could see through it and use it as a reference.

Then on new layers below, I coloured in all of the main elements and experimented with some stronger, more vibrant colours to see what they looked like.

Then I added little details like the sparkles, stripes on the backpack and some spotty areas for the frog.

Next, I give everything a few layers of shading and texture with my texture brushes, mostly my soft/chunky crayon brushes and my texture pencil brushes.

And then it's finished!

Now it's your turn (yay!) - take one of the composition sketches that you drew in activity 2 and create a final illustration from it (if you haven't already). Or if you feel like it you can do a completely new idea!

If you do draw a final illustration with the prompt this month then feel free to share it with us over on Discord in the #final-illustrations channel or in the community chat here on Patreon. Everyone is welcome, and you can share what you've created for any of the activities at any time!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how your illustrations turn out ❤

Love it!! Frogs are so cute. I just joined yesterday, but I filled a sketchbook page anyway as this challenge was so cute I couldn’t resist. I’m definitely going back and will complete some of the older challenges. Quick question, how do I join the discord?
