Hello everyone,
I’ve made a mini tutorial before about drawing a few animal faces but it’s been a looong time so I wanted to make a new one with some new friends!
Animals make for such lovely characters and are always a cute addition to an illustration, so I’ll show you how I draw a mouse, a bear, and a bunny face from the front and from the side as well.
Drawing A Mouse Face
Mice make for great characters because they can walk and interact with things in a similar way to humans. Their faces are quite forgiving so you can stylise them quite a lot and they’ll still look like a mouse as long as they have big ears and a pointed snout.
Start with a circular head, and for the profile add a quarter-circle wedge off to the side which can act as a guide for their snout (you can make the snout longer if you like).
Add a triangular nose to the end of the snout and a small eye roughly in the centre of the head.
Give them two big ears, and that’s it!
Drawing A Bear Face
Bears are big and cuddly, and make fantastic guests for a picnic!
Start with a circle for the head, and for the front-on view it can be a bit wider at the bottom (or you can keep it a true circle). Add a circle for their snout and a round nose.
The eyes sit roughly in the middle of the head, and they have two small ears.
Drawing A Bunny Face
I love drawing bunnies, and they’re quite easy because their long ears are so characteristic.
Start with an egg shape for the head - for the profile it can lie on its side but for the front-on view it can stand upright.
Draw their nose as a wide ‘u’ shape, and their eyes roughly in the middle of their head.
Give them two lovely, long ears from the top of their head, either sticking straight up or flopping down to the sides.
I hope you enjoy drawing these, maybe they would make for some nice portraits!
