Hello everyone 🎁

Today's advent calendar gift is a great one for digital artists - two new digital art brushes for Procreate and Photoshop!

I love playing with new brushes and even if they don't become part of your regular set, it's always fun as an artist to experiment with new tools.

I've made a brush with a fun, fuzzy edge, and a texture brush to apply a rough texture to your art.

I personally like to use the Fuzzy Edge brush to draw my shapes, and then I make a new layer above and use the Rough Texture brush to add a broad texture to everything (I make the texture layer a clipping mask so that it sticks to the original shapes).

Here's a quick example:

Download the brushes below for both Procreate (.brushset file) and Photoshop (.abr file).

To import into Procreate, you can usually just double tap on the file or select 'open in...' and choose Procreate.

Or, when you have Procreate open, click on the brush symbol, then on the ‘+’ icon. From your brush settings you can tap on ‘Import’ and select the .abr file on your device. It’ll then be loaded into your brushes ready for you to use.

To import into Photoshop, you can usually just double click on the file on your computer and it'll import them for you.

Or, with Photoshop open, go to your brushes panel, click on the three line icon in the top right, and the select ‘Import Brushes’ and find the .abr file on your device. It’ll then load into your brush panel, ready for you to use.

Let me know if you have any issues! 💖❄️

I love to use your brushes, and now two more!? Woohoo😌😍✨

Thanks for the brushes and the explanation! 💝 I still get a bit overwhelmed with texture brushes. So the explanation for these 2 brushes is also really helpful! ☀️ I am going to practice with these two to get some more experience. 😃💫

Your advent calendar has been so amazing!! Thank you so much for how much work you've put into it thus far <3

Hi Mimi! I was wondering if it is possible to make your brushes usual in ibis x paint, if they aren't already. I love your brushes however don't have access to either program. Thank you!

Linda Kay

These look great! Thanks for sharing!

Julie Schwartz

Thank you! 🙏 I love using your brushes!

Shannon

I love these but I am having trouble copying the links. Any tips on what I need to do?

Hi Shannon! What device are you downloading to? If its an iPad you should be able to click on the attachment that ends in '.brushset' and select 'save to files' or 'open with..' and from there you can open them in Procreate if that's what you're using 😊

Hi Anna! You should be able to import the .abr file into Ibis X Paint, although the brushes might work differently. Give it a go and let me know if it works 😊💖

Thank you for these! ◡̈

This didn't work. It just says invalid, but thank you x

Thank you Mimi. I don't have procreate or photoshop. I work with Fresco. Is it correct that photoshop brushes can be imported to Fresco? Thank you :)

Yes! Adobe makes Fresco as well as Photoshop so the .abr brush file should work 😊
