Hello everyone 🎁
Today's advent gift is a little tutorial for drawing gingerbread men!
Gingerbread is such a lovely festive treat and can be decorated in lots of different ways which makes them fun to illustrate too.
How To Draw a Gingerbread Man
1. Start by drawing a vertical rectangle, with a separate circle directly on top of it at the same width. These shapes will act as a guide for the gingerbread but we'll erase them later.
2. Trace around the circle, leaving a gap open at the bottom. Then draw the arms, starting at the top left corner of the rectangle and drawing a big 'C' shape to the left of the body - I like to make the arms just under half the height of the rectangle guide. Repeat on the other side for the right arm.
3. For the legs, draw two more 'C' shapes at a diagonal from each bottom corner of the rectangle, making sure that none of the limbs fall within the rectangle guide.
4. You can now remove or erase the guidelines and join the gaps at the sides of the torso between the arms and legs, and also join the head to the body with a neck.
5. For decoration, give them two round eyes and a smile (outlined to make it look like icing), and three circles down the middle for buttons.
6. Finally, draw some squiggly lines for the arms and legs - and they're finished!
