Hello lovelies!

Wanted to share with you a breakdown of this snoozing bunny I drew earlier this week just for fun. I got to enjoy some sunshine over the weekend and we went out to a park to read and relax and it was so nice!

I kept to a really simple colour palette of pinks and greens, and even though I know the sky isn't usually pink and neither are trees, I think it works! Feel free to use this palette yourself 😊

The process, as always, goes something like this:

Draw a sketch of the composition

Make that sketch 20% opacity and set it to 'multiply' blend mode. We'll draw on new layers below this from now on

Colour in all of those shapes with a flat colour (on different layers)

Add a broad texture to each of those shapes

Add some finer details like leaves and patterns

I quite like this one! I find my style has gotten more and more detailed and complex lately so sometimes it's nice to simplify things again.

I've been making a conscious effort this week to work less and it's been really good for me to re-balance. I'll be working on the step-by-step guide next week and am going to ask Beautiful Bluebells what they'd like to see as this month's tutorial video which I'm excited to make.

And thank you so much to everyone who has filled in the feedback survey so far - your feedback is really really helpful! ❤

Lovely! Step 3 Colour in all of those shapes with a flat colour (on different layers) do you use for every piece a separate layer? Sometimes I get messed up when I have too many layers but if I put different pieces of a picture on the same layer level it also doesn’t work out sometimes and something that is over an other piece should actually be under it.
