Mimi's Arty Advent Calendar - December 4th! (Patreon)

It’s day 4 of my arty advent calendar and I’ve made something that I’ve been wanting to make for such a long time! It’s definitely up there with one of my favourite things I’ve ever done so I’m really excited to share it with you!

I’ve made a printable cottage that you can download, print, and assemble! It’s a super simple craft and I think it turned out so cuute! I’ve been thinking for a while how sweet it would be to have a little paper village of my cottages because I always enjoy illustrating them, and now I’ve finally made one. There will be a couple more of these to come this month so you’ll be able to assemble them together into a mini village.

The instructions are on the printable as well, but here’s how to make the cottage:

1. Print out the page (in colour is best!)2. Cut out the cottage along the outside line.3. Fold along all dotted lines and glue tabs.4. Add some glue to the tab at the side of the four walls (the one at the bottom of the page), bring it around to the opposite wall and glue it to the underside of the paper.

5. Add some glue to the tabs of one roof piece and stick the tabs to the inside of the roof line so that the walls and the roof line up.6. Now add some glue to the tabs of the other roof piece and stick to the inside of the roof line on the other side, meeting the two roof pieces in the middle.7. Admire your new cottage!
