Helloo and happy weekend lovelies!

I just finished drawing a happy hedgehog enjoying the sunshine as you guys voted for in my last poll (thank you for the help!).

I'll post it to Instagram later today, but I wanted to share it here first and show you a breakdown of the illustration as it came together. There's also the basic palette that I used that you're welcome to use for your own illustrations too!

So here's a breakdown of my drawing process for this illustration:

First I drew a simple sketch of my composition. I've been quite into circular compositions lately which is why I drew my hedgehog on their back so that they could curve around the circle shape (also then their cute little feet can be sticking up!)

Then I reduced the sketch layer to 20% opacity and made it 'multiply' blend mode

On new layers below the sketch layer, I coloured in all of the elements of my illustration, using the sketch as a reference

Then I added lots of layers of shading and texture

And then I added details like the hedgehog fur/spikes and strokes for the petals

And that's about it!

I think they're quite sweet and I quite like the circular composition with the hedgehog sticking out over the edge. What do you think?❤
