Drawing Snapshot (featuring pretty spring birdhouse!) (Patreon)
Content
Hello and happy Monday! I hope you had a nice weekend, I spent Saturday relaxing and watching TV and then did some drawing and a bit of content work on Sunday 😊✨
I finished illustrating this little spring birdhouse yesterday that I started drawing last week, and it's based on the last poll that I shared about what I should draw next - so thank you for helping me decide!
Also, I used my new brush set to draw it and I'm really excited to release that in the next week or so!
So let me take you through a simple breakdown of the illustration process and I've also attached below the basic palette that I used in case you'd like to use it for your own art 🥰
My illustration process went a little something like this:
First I drew a sketch of my composition. It's quite busy because I knew I wanted there to be lots of flowers!
Then I reduced the sketch layer to about 20-30% opacity and made it 'multiply' blend mode so that I'd easily be able to see through it to use it as a reference.
On new layers below, I started colouring in all of my elements, using the sketch layer as a guide for drawing the shapes. I actually added a few more flowers at the bottom of the birdhouse here too.
Then I added lots of line details like leaf details and a wood effect.
Using my new texture brushes I went over every element and gave it a pass of general texture and then of shading as well.
And that's about it!
I enjoyed drawing all of these colourful flowers and will be posting it to my Instagram page a bit later on 🥰
